Trevor's improvement has been amazing! Seeing it online has been great. Him and Sam have been amazing to watch.

At the awards ceremony LS stayed until near the end chatting with anyone who came up to him. Nothing like that ever happened in the 90's. He was a pleasure to talk to. For some understanding of the bike course, my support buddy rode one lap the day before the race. He averaged 240 watts and it took him 2:52! Spectacular but tough course. At the end of the first lap of the bike, a hill heading back into town was lined on both sides with spectators for three hundred yards, shoulder to shoulder. Town was absolutely filled with spectators on the run.

This was a fabulous race to witness in person! Great recap as it was difficult to follow top men and women at same time; thanks Travis! 🙌God bless, Megan🙏 ps. 1:15...guess who's in the tu-tu standing right next to Talbot?!!😁

Sadly, I fear Lionels best Ironman years are behind him. There are just too many really fast newbies in Ironman now
@megmikerodriguez60113 ай бұрын
I'm not so sure...remember LS is just coming back from broken rib/s 🙏 and he wasn't looking to peak at this race, either. Trevor and Matthew both had an incredible day while Lionel was battling GI issues and still held on for the podium! You should have seen his face battling up that last hill on the run; he's 💪👊!!

@@megmikerodriguez6011 There is always something with Lionel. He had all the promise in the world back in 2017 when he set the worlds fastest Ironman time. Since then that time has become pedestrian in Ironman races on most courses and he hasn't won an Ironman,any Ironman, since. That is nearly 7 years without an Ironman win while the number of new contenders had exploded. The talent pool now is so deep and the margin for error so narrow that I think he can't be considered a genuine threat in Kona.

I am afraid this year could be his last push to kona win.
