Mizzou fans against their all time arch nemesis: high expectations. However, I don’t know if we’ve ever seen an offense as talented as the one we’re about to see. An insanely deep WR room, Norfleet, a nasty RB duo, a stacked offensive line all led by a QB who has only gotten better each year. They will go as far as the defense takes them.

2008 but the defense had glitches and the prvious oklahoma offense exposed our defense. I think the transfer portal gets kids ready to play right away vs that year we had experience but no depth on the defensive side of the ball.

@@johnbarkleybabygirl32 Yeah the 2008 offense was unquestionably the best MU offense ever and this year's offense will not touch it. Many of the games in 2008 were over by the half or at worst mid-third quarter. The passing game was literally pitch and catch

@@KaiLastOfTheBrunnen-G I was watching the 2008 game against Oklahoma State and the widest splits I have ever seen in my life occurred on the o-line. That offense scored a lot and had the quickest passing game and running game. It was almost too quick because the defense wasn’t prepared to stop teams. IMO I think Mizzou under Drink understands that you can slow it down and bleed clock. One reason why Heupel was not willing to change up and got caught like a dear in the headlights is the Time of Possession is key to keep your defense off the field to give them some rest.

After 2005 though, Mizzou got better. 2006 i think they were ranked 19 or 20 at one point. They year after in 2007 they almost went to the championship. back then mizzou didn't have the same recruiting skill as they do now. it was a bit harder to win especially with Nebraska and Oklahoma tormenting Mizzou for a long time

Eli isn't a fan of blue bloods. He's at the perfect fit he'll be here. I don't see the NFL fit I think he really enjoys recruiting and coach to player relationships rather than a pro type business model. Maybe after a title or two.

If we get Boggs & Simms that'd be a coup. I really wanted Jacob Washington. Sux he went to MIC.

A&M's "claimed" national titles are the biggest lie in college football. Mizzou has unclaimed national titles from 1960, 2007 and 2013.

Here's what I would say. Alabama hired S.Ala's head coach as their DC. I think we'd agree that ALA had a lot of options, & a serious vetting process. So assuming we trust that, we got the DC that was under him. So who was the mastermind of their Def? Khalil Jacobs their most sought after player in the portal came to Mizzou. Ala was after him as well, offered him 1st on jan 22nd. He pulled out of the portal the next day. He went back into the spring portal & signed with us a month later. The fact that he chose his DC over HC means something to me. The fact he chose to go back to the portal the day after his visit to ALA means something to me. Batoon has been coaching for 34 years. He was a coach & admin guy at Ole Miss for 4 years. He coached under High Freeze for 3 different teams, Mike Denehy, & Lane Kiffin. So he's got the pedigree as well.
