this car is not meant for urban commute, it is primarily a highway car at least for India. I own a Manual Diesel and after 10k kms, I can safely say that 1) manual is way better than AT because it is laggy. 2) Driving it on mud roads, and semi-urban areas is a breeze because the car drives superbly. 3) the AC is not great and needs to be run for almost 20-30 min to cool the interior in Indian summers. That too when you run it at max capacity. If you park the car in the sun, it will be an issue as getting the car to cool will take time.

Here in the U.S this power train combination is not available, tho many potential customers might find it attractive...particularly in 4x4 guise. That said, pretty much any current Jeep product is marginal value for the price they command. Apparently you are paying extra for the name and (perceived?) reputation.

Taigun and Compass are not directly comparable as they belong to two different segments. Taigun is a well engineered product, but leagues behind the Compass in build quality, driving dynamics and overall engineering.

Does the steering feels very hard ? In Diesel manual. The gear shifting is not smooth as per many reviews. I drove an altroz diesel felt good with no such issues. I know they are totally different segment. What's your opinion ?

Those are electric, jeep steering is hydralic. u will get comport in off roading.

Negatives to zabardasti ki nitpicking hai! ADAS is going to come soon on the Compass and meridian! the platform supports ADAS.

Review is kind of to the point.....that's why I am going for a test drive for compass and Tucson simultaneously.... another thing to consider is in order to get a jeep the booking amount is 3 lacs approx which is supposedly non refundable whereas in case of of Tucson it's just 25k and refundable 😑

I had test driven both the Tucson and Compass and finally bought the Compass. Compass seemed better built than the Tucson to me. Though Tucson is more feature packed and futuristic, the design of the Compass was more likeable, for me as well as my parents and wife.

Overrated brand. They are charging a premium price without a premium product. No wonder their sales figures are so low.

Not at all overrated. When your comparison is with Korean brands like Hyundai or Kia (which is not even comparable to the build quality, driving dynamics, safety rating and overall engineering) one would certainly feel Jeep lacking in features. But believe me, the experience is unmatched. I have been using a Compass for the past two years and I must say I'm completely satisfied and happy with the decision to go with Jeep.

@@sanjainandakumar still, it is highly overpriced. And it’s been two years since we saw any facelift / updates from jeep (except wranglers). I just think that they can do much better. They dont expand their service networks, they don’t bring better engines, etc. Is almost like they don’t care about Indian markets because we will just buy the brand, I think they can establish themselves if They just get the pricing right!

Pricing is high because of ridiculous government taxes, people are already paying 20 lakhs for a Hyundai/Kia kind of low build quality product. Jeep base model starts at 19L now and a decent loaded one is 22L. How is that overpriced ?
