As you say, it is an investment coz of it's uniqueness there will always be a ton of people wanting to buy one secondhand, and if you can manage the extra for 40th Anniversary Paint ,thats a future classic right out the crate. In the UK it's available in 2 KRT colours , green or black, and the 40th Anniversary Paint green/white/blue.

Pretty sure it’s common knowledge by now that it’s tuned to 50ish horsepower for America and Canada. Ecu flash can fix it but as someone who owns the bike I can attest that over 11k RPM it stops pulling. I figured you would notice that on a track. It’s blatantly obvious.

@@dbruntz1 because the entire event is advertising. and you want to advertise the best version of your product. furthermore press bikes that will only get used on track aren't, legally speaking, imported as the paperwork is entirely unnecessary due to them never getting registered or insured. so the expense is shipping two containers. which is darn cheap for better advertising.

I got mine late in May. Put on 2000km and took it to the track this past weekend. Bumpy track, so the forks certainly show their "budgetness". But it's definitely still a fun bike. Mine's staying on the street, but I'll take it to the occasional track session for sure. I'd like to sort out the suspension though before pushing it.

You could buy and race prep a ninja 400 and a z400 for the price of this one. I'm sure there's a market, but as a true learning tool, there are far more practical bikes. As a true racing bike, there are four more practical bikes. There's no real competition for this bike because there's no real place for it. If someone is buying it for street riding, there's dozens of more comfortable, more fun, more efficient, and less expensive brand new bikes.

@@TheRedStateBlue I’m not sure what data you are referring to but the zx4 beats the 400 in every way other than low end torque. And if your trying to tell me you can upgrade the brakes, suspension and clip ons on the 400 to match the zx4 you are delusional. That still doesn’t even include any engine mods in and I don’t know how familiar you are with engines but there is no way you can get another 30hp out of a 400 to match the ZX4RR. You comment is ignorant at best but please keep watching yammie noob 😂

Dude, this thing is a pig. My SV1000s was 476 wet when it was stock... once it shedded the stock exhaust system and tail, it was well under 450 wet, with 3x the torque. Maybe if it was 315 wet, it would make sense to spend that kind of money on the 400RR.

Do you realize how much ~280 dry would cost with an inline-4 engine. The price would be astronomical. Graves has his track bike down to something ridiculously light, but he's also $25,000 into changes.

yep thats why small displacement inline 4s dont make sense, inline 4s are already pretty gutless on 600s. so putting a inline 4 in a 400cc class bike is not a good idea. no torque and just adds a ton of weight. singles or ptwins are the way to go

Your SV1000 had a 90degree V TWIN engine in it. It did not have 4 cylinders. Just because yours was close to 1000 cc's does not mean the physical size of the entire motor was bigger. Surely you know that? Go watch the Fortnine video on the types of motors if you don't understand it. 4 cylinders means 4 of everything- 4 pistons 4 rods, 4 fuel injectors (possibly 8 if it has 4 valves per cylinder), 4 exhaust pipes. Added weight.
