stronghold’s work on April 20th including a mile long, congested gallop out after making up 4-5L on his older game workmate in the 46/change official work, is what has convinced me that his best is yet to come, and honestly a virtual newbie could look at his improving bris figs and use him to finish somewhere in the first three slots, particularly 2nd and 3rd place finishes. He’s going to pay $9-$13 to show and there is no shame in taking something in the 5-1 range to show and playing it strongly. I say that because virtually anyone could win or run 2nd in this pick’m field, but I am confident that SH is moving in perfect condition for the best race of his life and he’s extremely versatile in his running style and fearless when it comes to splitting horses in a tight arrangement so SH to show is where my money is going. Watch his April 20th work here on KZbin, the jockey was like a statue his hand stone cold as the colt made up the ground easily to his first of two victories that day (watch that long gallop out).

Always find it funny when people say "closer needs the race to set up right" Pretty much every horse needs the race to set up right. Look at Fierceness for example. A few races, paces, breaks did not go his way, and he didn't perform. There are many horses here who want to be on front. If fierceness doesn't stalk, I don't think he wins the race. Think the first 3 horses (or more) will fade this time. Thinking this goes 22.5, 46.1 Possibly faster if TO freaks out (2 races, big crowd, Japanese horse, looks to want to be out front)

Great job with your analysis, enjoyed the video! One point about the last horse you profiled, Track Phantom. Gotta respect the trainer's decision to try the equipment change in the Derby. This horse does have some quality to him. We know he's gonna be forwardly placed and the blinkers may help him show a little more staying power late. I've decided that I'll have to use him in the bottom of my vertical tickets. It's not far fetched to think he can run 3rd or 4th with his running style up close.

The thing with the derby people guess the way the race will play out and everything can change in the starting gate and if they get blocked in post positions but my view is fierceness Sierra leone and just a touch i like his daddy

Honor marie lost to catching freedom due to jockey error. Honor marie would have beat catching freedom if the jockey hadn't rushed out of the gates and sat behind catching g freedom. The race before that they were running in water and Honor marie hates water otherwise could have beaten Sierra Leone. Honor marie is a win contender as long as its not wet

I wish people would stop with comparing other Japan horses , more then half of them had no chance of winning and there average odds were nearly 30-1 .. Forever Youngs Saudi race I figure he ran over 100 beyer and he ran the stretch on the wrong lead . He s 5-for 5 won multiple races the hard way and he s been looking great on Churchills track. He also just ran the fastest final 400 m ever in the UAE derby and did that geared down.. His pedigree is just insane and he s easily the best Japan has sent to date . The trainers proven he can win the biggest races her and it s just a matter of time .I love this horses style he can run any where and his heart and guts have been tested while some of the others in this field haven t. I just feel Fierceness is gonna bounce and I have Dornoch ,Fierceness and 3 others blazing fast fractions that will set up Forever Young to get the jump on everyone and win. I got FY ,over Catching Freedom ,Sierra Leone, Domestic Product ,Honor Marie under neath.. If I can get 10 -1 on this horse I ll be betting him heavy . GL to everyone who s betting hope some of us make some good money ..

this is kinda the make or break year for me for japanese horses. If forever young fails i probably will ignore the other japanese horses next year and let them beat me in the future.

The issue with Fierceness is not so much Good Bad Pattern. It is can he handle bumping and his win last out was on the lead with tepid fractions vs a lousy FL Derby Field. He will need to lay off pace here. If he draws inside or far outside not good at all. Sierra Leone Catching Freedom or Just A Touch for me.
