I would watch…my interest is in how Chinese competition will shape the future veteran manufacturing markets pricing. Not in actually purchasing a Kove 450z I bleed orange and blessed with a work ethic to allow my indulgence.

I've built 4 bikes out of the crate. Two RM 250s and two Yamaha TT600s. It's very satisfying. BTW, you should have bounced the forks a few times before you tightened the front axle pinch bolts. It's good to be certain the forks are parallel.

Here in the US, dealers can charge an extra $5-700 to assemble your bike. Consider yourself lucky.

By now, with hundreds of folks around the world getting their hands on that bike, it is...a piece of crap. It has zero torque and needs to be revved up all the time. What about this review: I need to change the oil from brand new because it is dark and needs replacing????? I have a Royal Enfield with over 1500 miles and the oil through the little check window is still crystal clear. That Chinese bike at 10,500 euros is NOT a bargain. It is a piece of crap.

Allow me to correct you, as I have actual experience with bikes that share an engine with this bike, the engine in question being the Zongshen NC450. I have never seen any major issues when working with these engines, I find them to be very reliable. Now the Kove uses the DOHC version of the bike. This version indeed likes to be revved, and the "lack of torque feel" is probably due to how it's geared. The Kove is geared fairly tall, probably because most people who buy one are not going to take it to places where some would go on a 300 2T. Normally bikes with NC450 engines are geared a little shorter, like with the Fantic Caballero 450. That thing feels pretty good, torque wise. This issue can be easily fixed on the Kove by doing a sprocket change. I get the hate, it's Chinese and many chinese brands have a (rightful) reputation for being shit, like Orion/Apollo. However, brands like CFMoto, Kove, QJmotor etc have proven to be capable of producing quality bikes. Hell, KTM & BMW work together with some of these brands. The Loncin group (Kove is an autonomous part of that) manufactures the smaller p-twins for BMW, and CFMoto makes the 790/890 engines for KTM. And KTM helps them develop their own bikes as well.
