I would also say if True North Motos ever comes up with a ‘24 fe501s rack I would go that route. It would be burlier than the nomad adv.

Made my own racks for my 2018 500 5 years ago, similar to the Globetrottin rack. I carry 25kg with no worries, and the bags are not rubbing the bodywork plus I can secure them to the side rails which means no bouncing or breaking that pull strap.

Great news on getting the racks sorted. Have been crying out for one. Any ideas when they will hit the market? And will they fit the 2024 husky 501? Hope to get the new fuel pick up as well. Ready this month?

That Lucioli setup is pretty interesting. It has a lot counterweight though, it's not a race bike so it doesn't matter, it might just make it more stable. I've been running TUBliss on my 701 which I do enduro touring with, and I've had to add maybe half of the counterweight you have. Btw, if you install the TUBliss with Slime it holds air much better, you don't need to run it at 100psi, you should for sure if you can, but it holds air at 80 or 70psi, which means you don't need to check the pressures every day, gets rid of that headache. I've not had a puncture with that setup, despite riding it pretty rough. Also I've been eyeing the TUBliss copycat product Nomousse. The inner tire is larger and they don't have rim lock (and they have it for 2.5" rims), which makes me think balancing the tire will be easier. That's just speculation, I haven't actually tried it and I probably won't any time soon because TUBliss just works and it doesn't really wear. Great product! My next bike will be a 500 for sure.

Gee wiz that's nice. Hmm, saying 25lbs in the bags makes me a bit concerned. I've been carrying around 45lbs in the R80. But it's the 2015 501. Have done two week long trips. I don't see any cracks on the sub frame, no sagging. Crossing my fingers.
@SkylarRace4 ай бұрын
The difference is the new Ktm and Husky's have a carbon injected polyamide upper subframe that saves weight and dampens vibrations but it's not as burly as the full aluminum subframe on your bike. But then again I haven't heard of the new ones breaking either since they switched to aluminum supports on the new gen.

Just picked up a 2024 500 ExCF from mountain Motorsports here in Marietta Georgia. Picked it up used with a Vortex ECU and Graves exhaust installed and only had 472 miles on the clock. That tank is hard to find in stock anywhere. I assume the Vortex ecu doesnt use the o2 sensor? The sensor is still in the pipe.

I’ve seen some of the KTM RFS bikes with a Fastway exhaust tip installed, but they don’t list any available on the Fastway website for the RFS bikes. I messaged Fastway but never heard back. Do you by chance know if any particular ones fit? Also thanks for the root beer candy, that stuff is really good.

That round silencer shape and diameter was the same from 1998-2007 for four strokes so any tips from that era would be compatible. 08 and newer the silencers went to a hexagon like shape. Your best bet would be to find a used fmf turbine core and re-pack it, good as new.

How long has that Pmb end cap been on there? The black anodozing looks faded already.
@TACOMOTOCO5 ай бұрын
Unfortunately anodizing can do that with sustained high speed riding. That’s one downside to it Black has a fairly low color-fast heat threshold especially when exposed to long duration high heat sessions Luckily we’re releasing a line of ultra high temp tolerant Cerakoated pro moto caps that won’t heat or sun fade

You might want to tighten that nut to the rim on the valve stem….. just sayin! 😆 you guys must’ve deleted my first post about this. 😬👎
@TACOMOTOCO5 ай бұрын
We don’t tighten stem nuts against the rim, they are intentionally tightened against the cap or not used at all
@Ride4life3115 ай бұрын
@@TACOMOTOCO ohhhh wow! Never heard of that. I’ve always done just finger tight. What’s the reasoning for your method? Why do they have the nut then?
@jixxen5 ай бұрын
When running lower PSI for better off-road traction, you need to allow for some flex and movement of the tube. If the nut were tightened down to the rim, the stem could tear out of the tube.
@@TACOMOTOCO very interesting! Hmmmmm 🤔 I think it’s a myth. I run a IRC VE-33S Volcanduro Gekkota gummy at 6psi on my 2024 KTM 300 XC-DUB and have never had an issue. I ride hard enduro in American Fork Canyon (Utah).
