This was an awesome day in a beautiful location with some tricky terrain to overcome and a test of endurance for the trucks. Threadlock is your friend when you're driving for 6 hours on rocky paths.
It was a lot of fun and I have to say a huge thanks to Haydn for organising the day.
I decided to drive my MN999 to see how well my budget beast would keep up with the upgraded TRX4s and other pricey rigs. To be honest, I was expecting failure and it didn't start well. I'd put in a 1080 ESC the night before and hadn't had chance to test it. After 10 minutes I was at my wits end as I had so little power; even driving up a smooth slope was difficult. I reversed the motor cables and the throttle channel and all was good.

Looks like a great place to drive the truck. How many battery packs do you go through on such a long trail and what size are they? What was the model of LR again? MN999? It seems a really capable truck. I'm still yet to build mt SCA-1E Rangey, only had it 18 months. I think it's time but I have 2 other rigs on the go too. Lol great vid thanks for sharing.

It's a wonderful place! I think I just got onto my third pack. They're 5200mAh 2S. Yes, it's an MN999 and it does pretty well with just a few mods. There's a link to buy one in the description. I was torn between driving this and my Rangey. It would have been more capable but I was curious to test this against the much more expensive rigs.

@@stevenjones19-m8i Cool. The MN99 is a great way into the crawling world. They're frustrating when hoping that upgrades will actually fit but there's a lot to be learnt through them.
