So sorry for the loss of your pet, Clive. I know how hard it is. We've had numerous dogs over the years and now we have Golden Doodle about 3 years old. I lost my dad at the first of this year (2024). He was 97. He would have been 98 on Dec. 22. We had to clean out his house in Georgia and I live in Tennessee, so it was difficult. Hope things go well for you and hope you had a Merry Christmas despite all that has happened. I'll be 74 on Jan. 4. Had a great Christmas; got 4 new engines. Happy New Year from eastern TN

Thank you, The loss of a Dog seems harder each time, my Dad was 97 to, Thats quite a trek to deal with the home. hopefully the end of 2025 will be better. Happy New Year.

Oh, s..t, Clive! Those are haymakers, no doubt. Joyce and I can only send our condolences and wish you the emotional strength to get through it all. We do know the "when it rains, it pours" feelings, and all one can do is muddle through and take whatever few joys or laughs come as they present themselves. Hello CLIVE It's been a rough time for you and your wife, My condolences to you and your family. Some very big decisions to make moving forward, Downsizing to a bungalow well, it's tough. My parents had a 200ft+ garden multiple large sheds that were full of stuff, and it took 5 months to clear them and the house. Was it worth it? Yes, 100% Always here if you need a chat.

Thanks Deano, the Logistics is one thing that puts me off a move let alone finding a place that fits the bill, so we`ll just have to deal with things as they arrive.

I have been in a very similar situation recently too, pet and relative bereavement (mum and two siblings), house clearance, medical issues, car problems, etc. Life is tough, my thoughts are with you.

What a Bugger. So sorry for your loss, both for your little one and your dad. Life choices. Go and take a holiday to somewhere warmer to defrost the brain so you can make a clear decision. It's averaging 34C here. Nothing worse than trying to decided which way to go and the best direction to take. I'm in a similar boat, especially with the bomb shell that got dropped on me 2 weeks before Christmas. Things will work out in due course, but keeping busy is the biggest key. All the best for the New Year.

Deepest condolences Clive, you've certainly had a lot to deal with lately, especially the loss of a parent. I can fully sympathise with what's ahead, the stay or go scenario. It will sort itself out though, you're a hard worker and good at coming up with plans. Wishing you all the best and better luck in the new year. Stay strong. Don't bog yourself down with 'what if's'.

Hang on in there mate. Don't expect anything to happen quickly with the solicitors, just concentrate on your bits like the house clearance. That'll most likely be arduous enough. Have you any siblings? If you all muck in things are a little easier, but I'm aware some families have complicated relationships that don't help(don't ask me how I know). Take care of yourself and the Mrs. That's you're most important priority...all the best anyway...

you have a lot to figure out my friend. take your time...do it right. try to consider every last possibility and right it all down.
