I paid 1.8 here in Cebu. It takes 30% battery to travel 100kms. What's not mentioned is the unavailability of the MG ismart app in the Philippines. So we miss out on those features - opening the car manually to check how much charge is done, etc. I'm at 4k kms now. I got the Moon white but the digital manual says it's York white. The wireless charger for the phone doesn't work well if you have a case or cover and yes it does move around when driving. I also wish the car lets you save presets. I'ts annoying to ALWAYS turn on one pedal drive and turn off lane keeping assist EVERY TIME. Auto deal also didn't mention the doors when closing feels substantial and the sound of the horn is way better than other EV horns IMHO. They also missed the platform of the boot/trunk also can be folded from the sides and placed a few inches down to give more room. That balikbayan box could fit then without folding the rear seats. Another gripe is the windows. The lock windows doesn't seem to work. Passengers are still able to open/close windows even when locked from the driver's side. Not sure if it's just my unit. Took it to service (MG Mandaue) the other day and they can't seem to fix it. I don't mind not having a panoramic roof. I just wish there was a built-in dash cam. All those cameras can be put to better(more) use. I have a solar setup at home and charge my mg4 only during the day when it's sunny. Never paid for gas since. Electricity bill didn't seem to go up either. Except when it's exceptionally cloudy/rainy most of the month. I made a few upgrades - installed gas struts for the hood, ambient lighting through the 12v car lighter socket, plastic tray for the storage under the armrest and storage behind the Infotainment screen.

Planning to buy an EV. Can someone tell me how it compare to gasoline powered engine in terms of cost to power them? How much would i pay for electricity vs gasoline? Or is it just the nearly the same
@lolpartyparrot3 ай бұрын
In most cases, an EV will be much cheaper to fully charge vs an ICE vehicle, although prices may vary. One downside is the longer time it takes to charge, whether on public chargers (which takes about 45 mins on avg) or at your house (overnight or about 8 hours). Also, ICE vehicles have more economical range on a single tank of fuel compared to even the best EV available. For instance, while an average gas-powered car can reach up to 482 km (300 miles) on a full tank, most electric models have a range of 200-490 km (124-304 miles) on a single charge, which means you'll be paying a premium more just to get an equivalently-ranged EV. That said, EVs can still save you money over the long run, and they also cost less to recharge and cheaper to maintain than an ICE car.

Cost to charge an EV is around 13 pesos per kilowatt hour if you charge it at home. so a 61kw hour battery like this lux variant will cost around 793 pesos from 0 to 100 percent. then add around 10% to 15% estimated energy losses in charging since its not perfect. that is for 430km range compare to gasoline/diesel. If you have solar power at home and charge it during sun hours, then its less than that or free depending on the solar harvest during that day.
@838WE7O6A3 ай бұрын
Every 18 pesos you spend on charging at home is equivalent to around 80 pesos of gasoline. So that’s far from the same. Another cost saving is on maintenance, expect cutting it by at least half. Also, reliability is way better because ev has very few moving parts, so you save there as well. The least reliable ev might still have better reliability than Toyotas and Hondas.

A car without a sunroof is a car that will have one major problem less to deal with in the foreseeable future. When the time comes for the owner to deal with a leaky weather strip seal of the sunroof, man you have to disassemble the entire roof just to get to that aged and cracked weather strip seal and replace it. Imagine the hassle you have to go through if an incompetent mechanic does not align perfectly that new seal the first time or leaves a used plastic clip loose in the crevices of the car's sunroof causing a very annoying rattle everytime you hit a bump on the road and will have to do it again for the second time. 😊😉😆
