From Cheshire to Malaysia via North Wales and the Lake District, monochrome and colour, film and digital - I think that variety in location and chosen medium provides the stimulus for your creativity and a great set of images in 2024. Well Steve, we made it through yet another year. Wonderful images. I've just sat through another 3 years of your slide shows, fabulous. My first YT video of the year. I remember years ago seeing this guy pop up on my YT feed and thought, here we go another Landscape Photographer You Tuber. It began with you getting your gear out of the boot of your car and I thought, come on now Simon, give the guy a chance. It was at a time when landscape photographers were all coming out the woodwork to make videos. Anyway less than a minute in I hit subscribe as his dry wit suited my sense of humour. Little did I know then that he was to influence my photography in such a way it made the lockdown an interesting time to catch up on all his past videos and my journey back to film and I'm now 4 film Nikons in and a clutch of lenses. No it wasn't Thomas Heaton, it was you and your stunning images and videos in a style and format that just appealed. Now obviously I'm a photographer dyed in the wool of film, learned my craft shooting film, carved a good career shooting film. Dont get me wrong, I love what digital can do for me, but Im a purist at heart. I like mechanical things like the wind up clock in my dining room. So that moment I subscribed reignited a spark that was on the verge of being snuffed out. I have always loved grainy gritty images over ultra smooth, clean and sharp images. It was always my goal to hopefully go back to film one day as I near retirement and so I kept all my film cameras, but always hankered for the Nikon FE and FM range and here we are. I'm lucky that I work in a dual digital/Film lab where I can print my own. Now my photography has come full circle thanks to you. I consider your work to be, in my eyes, the best out there. Your compositional skill and capturing scenes in amazing light is off the scale. It is amazing when you think I might just have scrolled by your channel years ago and I may neve have gone down the path of film with such vigour and enjoyment. That I must thank you for. Finding your channel is like finding the last coffee cream buried beneath a sea of bounty chocolates in a tin of quality street. Sadly though coffee creams (my favourite) were discontinued years ago. As a Welshman you spend more time in Wales than I do and I can see why. Happy New Year Steve.

I'd wish for such nice landscapes, here into my country. My fave is april & december...the clouds hereby look like a imaginary saurons eye, shining on the mountain...and the nice & colorful sky, the boats on your december picture...this exotic landscape, great mood! Amazing photos.. These are lit..For the August and October images what film did you take them on? You are inspiring me to shoot Black White.. those BW are surreal.. I love the way you display the grain which is what makes it so so phenomenol.. what BW film did you use most of 2024 and on those images? Hey, Steve, did you make a video whilst in Malaysia? Didn't know you went until now; family holiday? You can be proud as you tuck this year away, in that you have come away with at least 12 fine photos to represent it. I recall several photographers saying that if you get 12 good photos in a calendar year (as an active photographer), you did very well.
