AJ Johnson has undoubtedly been the big surprise of the draft.

It's nice to see a bit of Nikola Djurisic's game, a Serbian who is having a very good end of the season in the ABA League.

I'm just not that high on Djurisic even if he ended the season on a very strong note. I get the appeal, especially since he measured well at 6-foot-8 but still. I don't think his shotmaking is going to translate, his percentages from three are iffy, he won't look as athletic vs. NBA competition, and I think his passing+decision making process is untrustworthy. Normally, I wouldn't find any of these things to be a massive deal, but I've been watching Djurisic for I think 3 years now and these trends have never really stopped.

Chomche could be one of the most risky decisions of the draft. On the one hand, he has tremendous potential, being able to become (given his age) a 7-footer, strong and with a 7'6 wingspan. But, on the other hand, he is a project player, someone who is very, very raw and who still needs to learn almost everything to be considered a basketball player. With that, it may happen that some team takes a gamble and selects him in the second round.

Chomche is incredibly raw and he has virtually no experience against truly high levels of competition. I'm sure that there are NCAA Division-II players out there with more experience or even big games than him, because Chomche is truly at the very start of his basketball career. In a less open draft, he probably would have opted to go to college (he still has this option), but I understand taking a chance in 2024. It only takes one team to believe in you and think they have uncovered the next big 7-foot sleeper. It also helps that Chomche is represented by Klutch Sports, which generally ensures in the draft that its clients get put in solid positions with guaranteed contracts/developmental situations. Just last year, Dereck Lively to Dallas, Nick Smith Jr. to Charlotte, and Chris Livingston to Milwaukee (when a lot of people thought he'd go undrafted) was impressive work.

Good stuff... like always. Ok, what's your thoughts on Jonathan Mogbo? Solid Warriors defensive point forward... Green/ Iggy mold.

I like Mogbo and I think he'll go in the second round. Anywhere from 40-58. Reminds me of someone like Alize Johnson maybe, in terms of NBA potential. I know a few people who are very high on Mogbo but I have questions about his size and margin for error as a non-shooting, undersized big. I'm not sure the skillset is there to be a wing. Helped himself out at the combine. Fun player at USF.

I think Bronny is a NBA player. I project him as a solid 3 and d role player with athleticism and maybe some playmaking potential. I think where he goes is important but he seems to have a high basketball iq

I've been evaluating Bronny in different contexts for 4 years now and every single time, I've been convinced he is a genuine NBA prospect. He had a down season, but I'm still a believer in him long term and I'm not going to sell my stock. His season and overall production is nowhere near the same ballpark right now, but Bronny is a comparable type of prospect to Reed Sheppard, Jared McCain, or Devin Carter who are all getting top 20 hype.

@@FloorandCeilinghe's not an NBA player I'd take Tyler kolek and 10 other point guards before bronny.

Thoughts on KJ simpson?
@FloorandCeiling
@FloorandCeiling 4 ай бұрын
First rounder. KJ was the best guard at the combine behind Ajay Mitchell. I’ll likely have a video on him before draft time. I think he can fill a Payton Pritchard or Andrew Nembhard type of role in the NBA.

Modest season is underselling it how not good he was

I mean, I really think it's sort of contextual. From a production standpoint, the stats weren't on Bronny's side. A lot of things were a big struggle for him, but I don't think he showed anything new which I didn't already know/suspect. His potential strengths and potential improvements were largely the same as coming out of high school, which makes sense since... James suffered sudden cardiac arrest in late July and was back playing in mid-December. He had virtually no pre-season and then his mid-season ramp up isn't what college freshmen usually have to go through. That's atypical, and I'm actually very surprised at how quickly people forgot that. Plus, everyone at USC struggled on the court - that's why Isaiah Collier or Kobe Johnson's stocks fell, per the consensus. I'll have a longer video on Bronny soon where I go into detail on the type of prospect he is and why I remain high (like first round high) on him.

@@FloorandCeiling I'm very much aware of the context and what his skillset is and I just don't think that warrants a 1st round pick even if he hadn't had heart problems that derailed his season, there are guys who have better physical profiles (Devin Carter) and a more well rounded offensive skillset (Hunter Sallis) all will still being as good or better defensively than Bronny. Even is Bronny had a less chaotic and more normal season I don't think the lottery hype he was getting going into the season was warranted.
