Spurs would probably prefer Risascher if they could. They're probably gonna trade for a PG like Trae rather than developing one from scratch which takes too much time for Wemby's timeline. Their owner also went to France to watch Risascher play
@Kharmahymm9 ай бұрын
I don't think they'd get Trae because he averages the most turnovers in the league with 4.33 as well as lacks defense to an already struggling defensive team that also averages lots of turnovers. The picks that ATL wants could potentially be converted into several lottery picks. More risk than reward for Trae. It's like trading PG and Shai. Sure PG is good, but now look at OKC with all their young drafted talent. This is what the Spurs has to do. If they wanna trade, get someone cheaper and efficient like Dennis Schröder

As a Spurs fan if they have picks #3 and #7 I think I'd much rather take Williams and Sheppard, assuming Risacher is gone in the top 2 and Dillingham goes top 6. Though Buzelis has been shooting well as of the last ten games or so, so if that continues I'd be much more open to taking him. Topic still has a lot to prove in Euroleague for me to believe he's worth a top 3 pick.

Feels like Filipowski fits OKC better than Salaun. He can be a true backup to Chet so playstyle doesn't change with Holmgren off the court, which is where OKC struggles now. OKC is starting to need older and more seasoned off the bench rookies. Salaun appears to be a carbon copy of Dieng who can already barely get minutes because he can't play with enough force for a PF and makes terrible passes, and Salaun's negative asst/turn ratio would scare me off. I also like PG Hall for OKC, and could see them trading up for Cody Williams with both UTA/HOU picks, and trying to take Hall at the top of the 2nd round by buying back in.
@Wrestle_Kingdom9 ай бұрын
I kinda agree as a okc fan I think okc should not go after guys who are gonna be projects and go after players who have more experience and been in college for some time I think salaun fits in terms of okc playstyles but not in terms of what okc needs in terms of a project, Cody Williams I like and wouldn’t be mad if okc drafted him but do we really need another guy who a scorer but at the same time don’t know much about the draft I rather them go after a guy kinda like tidjane but more experience because we need a backup big and another power forward
@homerthompson4169 ай бұрын
@@Wrestle_Kingdom I'll be pissed if the Spurs pass twice on Cody Williams to the point he'd be available for you guys lol. I'd definitely take a swing on Castle if I'm OKC though. Chip Engelland taught Tony Parker and Kawhi Leonard how to shoot and they both had horrendous jumpshots before working with him. Parker had an almost set shot and Leonard used to pull the ball back behind his head on his jumper, but Engelland made both of their jumpers textbook. If Castle learns to shoot the three he'd be the second best player in this draft, and if there is anyone who could teach him to shoot it's Engelland. God I'm mad the Spurs lost him. If Chip was still in San Antonio I'd want Williams #3 and Castle at #7.

@@homerthompson416 That Raptors pick could easily stay with Toronto since it's top 6. I could also see this being a draft that a 5 or 6 (where I see Cody going) team trades down in, because there is an unusual parity of talent from about 5-12, and OKC is likely to have 2 picks between 8-12 unless Jazz fall apart. I do like Castle, so I don't think that's a terrible pick for OKC because of Chip like you mentioned.

As a Rockets Fan and someone who actively listens to Rockets discussions, I think its likely that they Draft a big. I would hope they draft Donovan because besides shooting, a serviceable big is desperately needed for this team. The Rockets need a big with a defensive oriented skillset that's good at rebounding and can either shoot the 3, or be good in the P&R. I would be really disappointed if we don't get Donovan. I feel like this is our perfect opportunity. He's not Ranked in that top 7 area and can very well fall to the Rockets. I know we just recently acquired Steven Adams, but He's 30 (turning 31 this year) Coming off a BIG injury. I'm a big fan of Steve, but I don't see him as long term for the rockets. We can draft Donovan and have him be mentored by both Steve and Sengun, maybe even getting back up PF minutes, until its time he takes over in the rotation. On the flip side, theres a very strong possibility Adams can be in a package to trade for a Star. While I acknowledge the scoring of Reed Sheppard, I think the Rockets would much rather fill that bench depth with trusted 3&D (Vets) that are a bit more reliable.
