2024 Newport to Ensenada Race - The Start

Just happened to stroll out to the beach at the right time to catch the start of the 76th Newport to Ensenada International Yacht Race hosted by the Newport Ocean Sailing Association. I'm admittedly a complete novice when it comes to sailing, but I did a little digging and kinda figured out that the first start in this video is the PHRF division and seemed to be the biggest sailboats in the race. Not sure if that means something or not, but that's my casual observation. The second start in the video, according to my research, seems to be boats that were in the same division.
I have no fricken idea what's going on here, but I did campture two gun blasts and a bunch of boats going across the starting line right after.....enjoy :)

Hey Ernie!!! Yup, from a tripod with a 200-600mm lens set to 600mm for most if not all of the clip.
