People kept thinking he drafted later on but I was like they don’t know him and anyone who does will snag him in the first. The only reason the Falcons drafted Penix was to screw up the draft board for the Vikings, probably due to the whole tampering fiasco. I am firmly convinced that Penix was KOCs choice over McCarthy for the simple reason that Penix is a pure pocket passer, which KOC values in his system. As soon as he was gone, Kwesi went to Plan B, which was McCarthy, but had to trade up to do it.

I thought the Falcon pick was funny. The Vikings had to baby Kirk Cousins the entire time he was in Minnesota. Nobody was given a chance to compete or threaten Kirko's role as the undisputed starter. With Penix behind him Kirk no longer has that security blanket in Atlanta and I think it will effect him because he is a money guy, not a competitor.
