2024 NHL Draft Profiles: USNTDP's EJ Emery, Cole Hutson, & Teddy Stiga

The USA Hockey National Team Development Program has a trio of players who are viewed as late first-round and early second-round players. Steven Ellis of The Daily Faceoff joins to profile EJ Emery, Cole Hutson, and Teddy Stiga. We start with EJ Emery and why his athleticism makes him worthy of a first-round pick despite his lack of offensive production. Can Cole Hutson repeat the same path his brother Lane Hutson carved as a second-round pick? A big Cole Hutson fan and would be excited about landing him. Not sure if he cracks the first round but should be there at 33 or 42. There are quite a few like Ellis who are not high on him. I’ve listened to a couple of Hutson interviews and he’s a no bullshit type of guy, a real competitor. Similar to what Dan Boyle was but time will tell if he’s a Boyle 2.0 Emery is really what the Sharks will need. He reminds me of K’Andre Miller, a guy I wanted over Ryan Merkley but Doug Wilson Jr.

I attended U-18 games in Vantaa, my home for 21 years, and Espoo. I had to tell a loud obnoxious Canadian man that drinking alcohol in the stands in Finland is forbidden. He said, Well, it’s ok in Canada.”. I said, you’re not in Canada, you’re in Finland. I talked in Finnish with a few fans about this arrogant man. It was disappointing to see. I thought Canadians were not so arrogant. Gave me a bad impression of Canadians. ( Fan of the Sharks since their inception, when I lived in my hometown of Fremont. ) Proud to say that Finland is my forever home. 😍🇫🇮

Not really it’s just he hasn’t made up his mind. He hasn’t even been drafted so he can’t really say I’m definitely playing in the nhl next year
