For some reasons, I was convinced Ryder Ritchie was Calum’s brother but it is not the case 😬 Sorry for the mistake 🤷♂️

You did a great job without the script. Love you videos!
@bluechipprospect Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the nice comment !! It’s a work in progress but it’s something I wanted to do for a while now. As much as script are nice since I can write it over 2 or 3 days and really take my time to put my thoughts into words, I want to get better at doing it on the spot in a monologue form. Happy you enjoy the videos !!

The best 2024 prospect video I watched yet. You're right about Cole Hutson, he's a bettet version of Lane at the same age. Such a smooth skater and very deceptive.

Thanks !! I’m happy you liked it. Yeah, I think we’re in for a treat this season with Cole Hutson. It’s crazy cause I think Lane is a future star but Cole has that extra element to his game. I think he’s gonna have a very special year.

Awesome video as always! Do you have a plan for how often you're going to put out videos?
@bluechipprospect Жыл бұрын
Thanks ! During the season you mean ?? If so, once a week seems to be the absolute most I’m capable of putting out. With the amount of games I have to watch to build an educated opinion, cut clips, put all this together with ratings that make some sense, record and edit, I don’t have enough time to put out more for now. Especially with future projects. What I’ll try to do this year though is pre edit some videos and add the voice recording just before release so I can be more efficient after the first half of the season. That’s my plan for now 😂

Demidov always impressed me with his smooth skating, surprised you list it as his weakness
@bluechipprospect Жыл бұрын
I don’t remember if I said it’s a weakness but if I did, I didn’t mean it that way, just the weakest part of game overall. I don’t believe he is an explosive or fast skater but on the other hand he is agile and shifty. I wouldn’t put his skating anything higher average for now. But he has all season to work on it.

The section for Konsta Helenius is mistakenly titled Eeli Tolvanen xD otherwise good job!

Way off topic but curious if you watched SKA in the Sochi Hockey Open? Michkov played center and looked fantastic, but it was interesting that it seemed like he was avoiding using his shot Demidov looked great too
@bluechipprospect Жыл бұрын
No I didn’t. I thought it would be available on the KHL website after the games but I couldn’t find it. Watched every highlights I could find but that is all unfortunately.

He used his shot when it was there. He was just more focused on defense and setting up plays. You can tell he's not used to center, he drifts to the wing a lot. He still excelled at center, even though it was pre-season.

Surprised u have skating as a knock for Demidov, he's always struck me as an agile and smooth skater. Regardless, love your content you probably have the best prospect commentary on KZbin right now. Most prospect channels have very generic comments on players or just regurgitate stats but I feel like I learn a lot everytime I watch your vids.
@bluechipprospect Жыл бұрын
i somehow missed your comment so a bit late but thank you ! I’m happy you enjoy the content and that you can learn from my videos. I try to stay somewhere in middle of in depth analysis and basic analysis. I think elite prospect with David St-Louis does in depth skills analysis better than I can so I leave it to them and on the other side of the spectrum there’s already plenty so I feel like I found my spot. On Demidov, If I had to grade his skating right now based on last season and the game he played on Monday, I’d give it probably a 6. Projecting to be NHL average. He has a bit of a weird stride with constant 10-2 or Mohawk strides and rides on his inside edge a bit too much for my liking but he generates power and speed anyway. If he can work this out a bit, especially the inside edge gliding, he can most likely bring his skating a level or 2 higher. I’m excited to see how it goes for him this season.

Demidov, tons of skill and average to decent skating. Sounds like a proto-typical future Flyer 🙂

Hope the habs can draft demidov to make up for michkov but I feel like they wont be bax enough, hometown boy massé would be nice

No Aaron Kiviharju is shocking
@bluechipprospect Жыл бұрын
Haha ! Like I said, he’s in my tier that goes from 6 or 7 to about 16. I could’ve put him in there but I slightly prefer the ones I’ve put in the top 10.

@@bluechipprospect has he fallen so far? this time last year most were saying he'd go 1st. i bet he goes before hutson. because cole is...physically a hutson. if he has half the talent of his brother though, he'll be amazing. don't think it would be a good idea for the habs to draft him though.

I think the issue with Kivi, it’s more that the expectations weren’t met, especially for a guy that was hyped this much for so long. Obviously Liiga is a tough league for a 16 year old so can’t read too much into his lacklustre production but he really wasn’t has dynamic as we all thought he would be. He was good at the U18s but I wasn’t necessarily in love with his game. The way he defends right now brings a lot of question marks for me. He basically just skate backwards with his arm extended out but doesn’t poke or move his stick to prevent entries or block lanes. He gives everything the attacker wants to take on every rush. I think there’s a lot of work on the defensive side and isn’t close to be as dynamic as Hutson. Also he isn’t that much bigger. He has all season to redeem himself but for now I have him out of my top 10 but inside my tier from 6-7 to about 16.
