This is the most budget comprehensive video I watched on Philippines 🇵🇭 😂 budget. I was stationed at Clark Air Base ((Angeles City) in 1991. at age 28. Now age 61, a widower and my children are grown now. I plan to return and retire in the Philippines 🇵🇭 at age 62,next year by no later than end of 2025. Location around CEBU CITY. I eventually will utilize the American Military 🪖 Philippines sponsored SRRV program. You really made my night. I believe it must meant to be for me to return and retire in the Philippines 🇵🇭 😂, thank you.

Good day David and nice to hear from you again. Thank you for looking at ATP and viewing this video. The Special Resident Retirement Visa (SRRV) Expanded Courtesy program is a fantastic Philippine visa option for foreign nationals 50 years old and above, who are retired Armed Force officers of foreign countries with existing military ties and/or agreements with the Philippine Government. A monthly pension of at least US $1K and an SRR Visa deposit of US $1.5K are required. I’m currently renewing my SRRV Expanded Courtesy visa and have now been in Cebu one year. I have found the Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA) to be a very professional and efficient organization as well as friendly. I’m glad I made your night and wish you a happy and healthy Cebuano Retirement. Thank you for your dedication to country and your military service! Good day Joshua and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting. Certainly, living rent free is a great way to go but even paying rent, currently $230 a month compared to what I would spend in America of at least $800 - $1,500+ is money in my pocket! Now in the Philippines for ten months, I’m finding my budget comfortably settled between $1,500 - $2,000 monthly. A financially stress-free retirement and loving life. Good day Apolo and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and sharing your information with our viewers. Seems $1,500 - $2,000 is a comfortable number both in Luzon and here in Visayas from the feedback ATP has received from viewers. I spent 10 days in Antipolo Luzon in July and COL seems about the same there as here unless of course you are going to buy or rent in Quezon, Makati, or Marikina. Gas prices around 60P per liter for 95 octane and food prices the same. While walking through an outdoor market, I did notice that prices on fruits and vegetables were about 50% less than the supermarket down the street. Four nice lemons for 50P while the supermarket wanted 125P. I’ve signed a lease on a very nice house renting at 25,000P while other comparable homes are charging 35,000P so I feel like I got a good deal. Seems you’ve planned well with no mortgage or rent. Way to go! 👍 And I do believe there are many military veterans living in the Philippines for good reason. One being getting the Special Resident Retiree’s Visa (SRRV) - Extended Courtesy is quite a savings for the qualified veterans. In my humble opinion, the Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA) is so much easier and more professional to work with than Thailand’s Immigration system. One of many reasons I moved here. If you have not already done so, please subscribe to ATP to receive future information like this. Your viewership and time is very much appreciated and I wish you a great day. 🙂🙂

Good day “gmm” and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting. With nearly 500,000 Americans collecting Social Security benefits abroad, it is not for everyone. But if a retiree lives within their means, financially there should be no stress. As you elude to, I’ve seen many expats spending like there’s no tomorrow resulting in financial ruin, and sadly for some, taking there life. Finding the right balance is key and I think the Philippines offers that balance to afford a stress free retirement. Good day “gmm” and thank you for following up with your comment. Yes I agree that adapting is very important and additionally expats should take an interest in learning the culture, traditions, and some history of the country they reside in. Maybe even some basic language. Understand the laws of the land and be a law-abiding guest in the country. I stated incorrectly to your earlier comment and have found figures vary greatly for American expats living abroad with estimates ranging between 4 - 6 million. Quite a lot! Good day Edward and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting. Yes, I would agree with your numbers as I budget 100,000 monthly ($1,700 USD) and live comfortably. Electric is certainly one cost that is more expensive than other locations but still manageable in the overall scheme of things. I’m currently renting a 70+ sqm townhome for 12,000 peso in Visayas and will soon be moving to Antipolo Luzon where I’ve signed a lease for a 90+ sqm two story house for 25,000 peso ($427 USD) that I still consider a bargain as it would cost me at least $2,000+ in the states. A bump up in the finances but as the old saying goes, “we can’t take it with us”. 🙂 And it is certainly wise planning to have an emergency rainy day fund for the unexpected. Good day David and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting. Its never to early to start planning your retirement abroad as is apparent you are doing. Recommend searching on FB for rentals in the locale you are interested in and join some property links that will send you regular updates that match your property desires. I’ve recently done that for the Antipolo market and have found it quite useful. If you have not already visited either the Philippines or Italy, recommend doing so to get a better feel of your prospective future home. I’m a four-season guy and miss the winter months so I'm planning a trip to Hokkaidō Japan in February for some winter sports. One thing I like about living in the Philippines is not only the beauty of the country and the warmth of her people, but you can fly to many destinations in less than four hours. @ATPAllThingsPhilippines-jb2050
@ATPAllThingsPhilippines-jb2050 9 ай бұрын
Good day BMT 1980 and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and making inquiry. We all certainly pray for good health but we must be prepared for the unexpected. Medicare only provides coverage within the United States and if your state side insurance has no international coverage then you will not be covered traveling abroad. Getting health insurance in the Philippines can be costly as seen in this video and if one had a prior chronic disease, they might be considered a high risk and uninsurable. Should someone become seriously ill, it might require them to relocate back to the USA for their treatment. You might find this link which talks about Medicare helpful; Does Medicaid or Medicare Cover Me Abroad? - MIUSA There is a Veterans Hospital in Manila (the only VA hospital outside of the USA) and this link will give you information on their services. I’ve not been there so I’m not familiar with this facility but should this be an option for you, you might consider living on the island of Luzon; Manila VA Clinic - VA Sierra Pacific Network (VISN 21) If you have not already done so, please subscribe to ATP to receive future information like this. For a canadian. been there just last year anything food is MORE , can be way more. I buy bananas cheaper in canada. Gas more electricity more intertnet same really insurance , if you can qualify, its expensive, deductables can make them worthless. Welcome to american style healthcare all medical is now out of pocket, no universal care . Those that complained about it can now pay as yu go and enjoy. Good luck waiting for an ambulance, bring a last rights bible and shovel entrance fees cheaper You will save on rent, hotel stays and travel. Dental way cheaper You need to eat out filipino style to save , otherwise not much if anything..Heads up.Filipino food cant be compared to good Thailand food. Sorry, but true. Takeaway because of canadian low dollar, the savings are not eye opening /. They will be better if you want to live Filipino style in the provinces where you will exist like a hermit with nothing to do. Not recommended for anyone western 65 and older unless you dont care about dying if something healthwise should happen. People are nice and you feel mostly safe everywhere...a huge saving mentally

Good day Ed and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and sharing your experiences. One big concern for older expats is the cost of health insurance as prices can get expensive very quick for those over 60 and for those older than 65, some insurance companies will no longer provide coverage. So, at some point, expats must consider if they stop carrying health insurance and pay health costs as issues arise. As the costs of owning or renting a home and auto insurance rising at a staggering pace in America (10% - 25%+) and the annual Social Security raise at 2.5%, I’m still a believer of living abroad and enjoying retirement for as long as possible. If you have not already done so, please subscribe to ATP to receive future information like this. I’ll have a new video out within the week about shopping at the grocery store vs market and cost savings. Quite an eye opener. Your viewership and time is very much appreciated and I wish you a great day. 🙂

Good day Coco and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and inquiring. The beef cuts at S&R are noticeably nicer and thicker cuts of meat and come from Australia, New Zealand, and America. I believe there is a noticeable difference from the S&R brand meats compared to the big name chain supermarkets. Good day Larry and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting. Good information indeed and I’ve read about expats settling in Central and South America for much less than America. But one key factor that has always dissuaded me from looking in those regions are the many drug cartels and news stories, one of which most recently was about two women, identified as 72-year-old Enedina N. and 82-year-old Ubaldina N., were found dead in their vehicle that was riddled with bullets and overturned on highway Sonoyta-Caborca in northern Mexico. PH is heaven on earth for rich Filipinos only & not the ideal country for foreigners to settle & retire foreigners in PH can't even own small portions of lands & have very limited & restricted rights foreigners can own condos in PH however condos unlike lands don't increase in value over time foreigners can obtain PH citizenship if born & raised in PH like the prominent Spanish Ayala family which is not the case of expat newcomers

Good day Jose and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting. The established Philippine real estate rules and guidelines established for foreigners are very much like many other Asian countries which do not allow home ownership or the purchase of land. Having owned two condos in Thailand, I agree with you that in general, condo real estate will not appreciate in value like many think. The local governments allow the large builders to over build condo capacity which drives the prices down setting foreign condo owners up for losses. I, fortunately broke even on both of my units because they were rented out for better than 90% of the time. But to your point about the Philippines not being an ideal country for foreigners to retire, I respectfully disagree. Though real estate is one aspect of why an expat lives abroad, it is not the main reason. As I have expressed and presented in ATP videos, the Philippines is a nation rich in history offering a wonderful climate, the opportunity to meet many amazing Filipino people, and opportunities to enjoy amazing scenery and attractions. After five years in Thailand and one year in the Philippines, I now consider the Philippines home. If you have not already done so, please subscribe to ATP to receive future information like this. Hi Michael and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and providing your positive real estate experience. Seems you have found the right properties in the right location. Could you provide our viewers the names of some developments in Angeles City that have done well over time should they be looking in that area. My lady may soon be transferring to that area and it would be nice to have a look. Your information is refreshing and encouraging to know its not just the developer’s making money. Your viewership and time is very much appreciated and I wish you a great day. Continued success in your real estate investing! 🙂🙂

Good day Brian and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting. If one is not prepared for the unexpected, then healthcare can be a challenge especially the high cost of health insurance as we get older. And crime, well we just need to make sure we keep our eyes open and stay out of the danger zones. To date, I have found the dental services just fine. Good day CD and thank you for looking at ATP, viewing this video and commenting. Being vigilant and keeping our eyes and ears open as we go about our business is part of good safety protocol. I honestly can say I feel safer here in Cebu than I would feel if I were back in America. And true about high quality health care in the larger cities but one needs to be willing to pay for it. It would be interesting to hear from other expats about how they feel regarding the Philippine safety issue. If you have not already done so, please subscribe to ATP to receive future information like this. Your viewership and time is very much appreciated and I wish you a great day. 🙂🙂
