Before, the LR AWD was the one I wanted. Now, the LR RWD makes me rethink the whole thing, as it has more power than the old FWD and it’s rear wheel drive!

406 miles WTLP minus 20% for highway speeds=320miles and running at 10-80% charge= approx 225miles of safe highway range, without wasting slow charge time at the top end. 300miles, if you really have to. Nice one!

Why in 3 videos upload in last 3 days about 2024 Polestar 2, by 3 UK channels (Fully Carged Show, cinch and AutoEV), none show one image from display with the consumptiom? It's some brand imposition?
@Astke
@Astke Жыл бұрын
Because these are not EV reviewers who care about details. They tell you a car is "good" and "nice" but don't explain why. And only a handful of EV reviewers actually do proper real life range and consumption testing.

Hi Antonio, hope you liked the review! Sam and Henry only had the car for two hours, so they couldn’t film everything. And since the driving wasn’t very realistic (Sam was doing lots of acceleration tests), the value wouldn’t have been a fair representation of what the car can do. He did note that the range remained very high despite the hard driving though. We’ll do a more in depth test for you when we get a press car in for longer. Hope that’s ok :)

Great video do they have Harmon Kardon audio as standard across the range?
@farodopi5170
@farodopi5170 Жыл бұрын
No. Only if you take the plus pack. The standard one has 300w while the optional HK has 600w with few more speakers. The basic one is really acceptable if you can’t afford the plus package. Good enough for normal use. It’s way better than any standard audio I have ever seen. It’s decently clear and powerful enough. No distortion even at high volume. Bass are present but it hasn’t a subwoofer so no miracles there. So it’s not comparable to the HK which is just amazing! The HK sound is unbelievable. 600w is really a lot. But if you are in a budget and let’s say you don’t know if you should take the plus package or the dual motor. Then don’t worry for the sound. It’s acceptable enough. I’m a big audiophile and I was on this same dilemma. I received the car and I don’t regret. The standard audio is ok. I prefer the traction and power of the DM and sacrifice the audio, roof and heat pump.

Do you think the 20” wheels are a bit too uncomfortable?
@cinch
@cinch Жыл бұрын
Hey! The car rides very well with the 20s, but Sam would be tempted to go for smaller wheels to potentially make the car more playful. With 19s it might ride like a cloud :)
@stegeorgy60
@stegeorgy60 Жыл бұрын
I have 19s on LRDM , perhaps the additional weight with mine is the issue….BUT….the ride is awful, feel every bump in the road like you have hit a brick, so uncomfortable. Reading reviews of the 24 model this is still the major gripe most have with the car. Additionally mine has rattles from door that the dealer after x 3 visits cannot fix. Depreciation is also eye watering if you are a cash purchaser like me.
@farodopi5170
@farodopi5170 Жыл бұрын
I have 2023 LRDM with 19 inches wheel. The ride is super comfortable. Less consumption. Not enormous but real. Enough grip with the Michelin Primacy. I tried several 20 inches before purchasing and they do feel a little more harsh on bumps. Also the car feels much heavier with it (but it’s purely a feeling). Not a disaster but still you can clearly feel the difference. If they were not so ugly I think I would have gone for the 20. But because they look so dumb like some 9 years old kid designed them. I took the 19 black 0:12 diamond cut which IMHO look way better. Especially if you take the car in space black color. It makes so much more sense. But in any case. 19 or 20 the car looks astonishing. Such a joy to drive and to look at

I too have a 2023 LRDM on the standard 19" wheels. I concur with Stegeorgy60 that the car does bounce and bump on our awful roads and can feel very heavy. Its not terrible, but you do notice it. I also have a rattle from the passenger door side that i have finally managed to isolate to the seat belt holder knocking against the centre console when there is no passenger present. I'm going to add an additional foam pad to it. Overall though, I do enjoy the car!

so i also have an iPhone (always had) and I usually don't like android OS but this Android Automotive is really super user friendly and intuitive. It took me 0 learning curve. The look is fine. Very clean and readable. Honestly a major feature IMHO. For Apple Carplay integration it works very nicely. Absolutely no problem at all. They take full advantage of the screen size (and vertical orientation) and they did a very good job on the integration. If you put the Carplay wallpaper background in black, it fits perfectly the design of the Android Automotive OS. You wouldn't even notice that the car has a different OS. On top of that, if you use Apple map, you get the map and directions to be displayed on the instrument cluster screen (very nice!). But not if you use Waze (at least for now but this is the case on many cars i have driven). Honestly big thumbs up here for Polestar for giving us the choice to use both system. This means you have Whatsapp, Podcast etc. You can access Waze from either AA or ACP. If you select google maps in ACP, it automatically switches to the main screen (LOL). The nice thing is that you can still run apple Carplay on the background and navigate in the AA OS. So let's say you are using an app on Carplay like a podcast, music or whatever. Even after you exit from ACP, you will still hear the sound. This means that you can use Carplay without necessarily having the screen showing you Carplay. This is very convenient in my opinion because i use a speed trap alert app on my Carplay and i'm still able to navigate with built in navigation system (just perfect). So i can still get the audio alert even if i don't have the app displayed on the screen. However, for phone functions or navigation, you will have to chose between existing build in system and Carplay. When connected on Apple Carplay, you will have to use ACP phone app. You can chose any navigation system you like but obviously, only one of them can run at the same time (ACP or AA). Ah yes it's wired ACP but Polestar sales guy told me that they are working on a wireless version on the next OTA so no worries. They released a wired one for now because it was easier and faster to implement. And they wanted it sooner for their customers (a brand that cares about customers isn't it nice?). I think this is a very nice selling points, especially compared to the other brand that everybody is blinding buying now (i can't pronounce it sorry). There are some after market USB device that convert it to wireless but i wouldn't bother. I personally don't mind that it's wired. The position of the USB plug is not ideal but i found a way for not having the cable sticking around in the center console. Just put it on the hidden side pocket in the center console.

You don't need your phone in the polestar. Android automotive has everything on it without connecting your phone. For calls it connects as normal to your car. This car has one of the best user interfaces of any car.

The 2024 RWD Polestar 2 is 10k dollars more than a Model 3 RWD in Canada. And 1 cup holder with the arm rest down? Rear seats are very tight.. Ugh... Not worth it.

It's also not bespoke BEV, like M3. But has a more practical hatch and has better build quality and looks $10k more expensive and just a better looker than M3 , to me. Subjective of course. But $10k is a big diff.
