Hi @alexcalero7917 ! Not necessarily, however it would be highly recommended that he do go if possible. This is because the officer should do the I-751 interview before the N-400 interview. The conditions need to be removed BEFORE the N-400 interview. Most officers will know this, but we've seen some mix up the order in a combo I-751/N-400 interview and then your case can get delayed. Your husband might be needed for the removal of conditions. It will be up to the officer conducting the interview. Some will not do the interview without the spouse present. He will most likely just sit in the waiting area in case he is needed for questions regarding the I-751. He may not be needed at all, however just by being there and supporting you, it demonstrates a better case to prove a bona fide marriage. Hi @clementbiaya2009 ! Sorry to hear you are still waiting for an Oath Ceremony. Are you waiting for a name change? USCIS says it can take up to 90 days to schedule, or longer if you have a name change. However, they usually happen within a few weeks of the interview. Now that it’s been almost two months of waiting, please call the customer service line at 1-800-375-5283. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm Eastern. Say, "InfoPass Appointment" when the system asks why you are calling. Ask the representative for a case status update and if you need to go in for an InfoPass appointment to speak with an officer about your case and reason for the delay. You can also send a direct message using the "Inbox" in your USCIS online account to let them know you are still waiting for your Oath Ceremony to be scheduled. Regarding your trip, after your oath ceremony, you will need to apply for a U.S. passport in order to travel because you will not have your green card anymore. This can take a few months. It is possible to get it sooner with an expedited process. Look under "Expedite a First-Time Application." You will need Form DS-11. travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/get-fast.html If you have a name change, please remember to also change your state ID to match your passport. If you don't hear back from USCIS soon, it is possible to travel a short trip before your oath ceremony with your green card. You will just need to report the trip to USCIS on the day of your oath ceremony so they can add it to your previous trips listed on your N-400 application. Be careful you don't already have too many days outside the country. It is also important to not miss your oath ceremony while you are away. You will need to have someone check your mail, or if you have an online account, you can monitor there. If you receive an oath ceremony appointment for a date you are away, you can request to reschedule. It is not a problem to reschedule one time. *It is very important to let them know you won't be at the ceremony.* If you just don't show up for the ceremony it can cause further delays in your case.
