Ma'am can you give a numerical example of the budget line where the government is putting tax on x1 after a certain unit . And how can we find out the or make the slope after x1 units

Yes, consider that price of good 1 is 5 upto the first 10 units of consumption and then increases to 10 ( there is tax of 5 rs per unit) Good 2 price is 1 Initially, the slope of the budget line will be 5/1 = 5 And post 10 units of good 1 , slope will be 10/1 = 10 The budget will be flatter till 10 units of good 1 and then it will become steeper. We have taken similar case in next lecture on food stamp program
