Today we help Oldskool upgrade the terrible stock speakers and amp on his new 2024 Harley Road Glide. While we are at it, we are installing the integrated garage door opener with homelink as well.

Those Rockford speakers are also terrible. Just not as terrible as the stock ones. I used hertz 165neo in the fairing and 690neo in the bags. Absolutely so much better with a better amp.

Rockford is garbage at any stage. Hertz speakers are lower cost and are substantially better in every way

@michaelroy925 i did on my 2014 Ultra With no amp I can hear music at 80+ mph pretty easy. Just the higher efficiency makes a huge difference, i didnt believe it and was prepared to buy an amp, then heard the 4x6" speakers.

That's Awesome! I would like to upgrade to the Hertz 6.5" in the fairing on my 24 Street Glide. I need to know for sure if it's worth just adding speakers because I don't want to do the whole amp thing. 🤞

@@jakeviolet4045 I will check them out! Oldskool really wanted something he could hear before buying and the Rockford kit seemed to be the only one he could find locally so that’s a big reason why he went that route.

Just a heads up. You don’t need a different amp to run bag speakers that 500w amp is a 4ch anp

So the Rockford amp also needs a flash? I bought one but the speakers don’t work with it. I have hertz on mine. I’m wondering if I have to take it to dealership to flash it. TIA

@@VeenOnWheels we saw mixed answers on that. In fact, one dealership said it needed a flash, the other one in our area said it didn’t LoL ultimately, it’s my buddies bike so I let him make the call and he opted to have it flashed.

That was a huge waste of money buying the stage 2 Harley audio kit. There are several audio speakers that are compatible with these bikes and they are LOUD!! Volunteer Audio is the best in the business for Harley audio

@@Jeffmd2020 hahah. Good news is it wasn’t my money. My buddy who bought it had a ton of money in Soundz audio on his last bike. He’s happy with this upgrade for now. I ride a Road King so have no need for any of it!

Does anyone know if upgrading just the speakers to a better quality speaker would make much of a difference? I had a 2016 Cross Country Tour and upgraded the speakers to Alpines and made a huge improvement

I can tell you in my 2014 Ultra I upgraded to 6.5 Hertz speakers and I do not even need an amp. The hertz speakers are seriously night and day difference. When I was told how much better I was told they would sound I did everything but call BS to Volunteer Audio tech support. They were 💯 on the money

@@michaelroy925 with only 2 speakers i can't say you won't need an amp, but I did not need one with my 2014 Ultra and I wear full face helmet. Easy to hear at 80mph, I'm almost 60 and don't hear like a 20 year old lol.

Harley and Rockford should be embarrassed that the stock system sounds this bad. Because of that I wouldn’t pay for a stage 2. I bought the volunteer audio hertz stage 4. I’ve installed the fairing speakers and will install the bag speakers when the cut in kits arrive. Well worth the money. Harley would be better off partnering with them instead. F Rockford.

@@barkleywitcher3494 I definitely don’t disagree with you that the stock system is an embarrassment. Although, to be embarrassed, one would actually have to be able to hear it. 🤣 Honestly though, the stage 2 kit is significantly better. That’s what they ought to be sticking in them in the first place!
