I just got the graphite version this spring. I was about to get a 3, but decided on a 2 at the last minute and am more convinced all the time I made the right decision. I have it on me pretty much always, even when I'm out doing paid shoots with a full frame. People react noticeably different when you point that small xpro at them instead of a heavy, loud camera. I don't care at all about its age. It's still an almost perfect daily camera. There's some kinda magic in those things.

The X100V prices helped me resell it to fund a Leica with only a $100 loss. How f’n nuts is that? The market price gouging is insane, yet people are paying the price. The 35 1.4 with the XPRO2 is FARRRRRRRRR superior to the X100 lens as well

My M3 built in 57 helps me make photos i can be pleased with still. I guess that is too much to ask from a camera company nowadays. Hopefully my Xpro 2 can give somewhat a long photographic life. I'm glad you're enjoying the X-Pro2! I had a preorder in when it first came out so had one of the first ones. It had one annoying fault: the eyepiece ring was constantly falling off to the point where I put the ring in a drawer until I eventually traded in the camera for the XP3. I bought the XP3 for the flip screen but didn't get on with it at all. Eventually I sold it and re-bought what was probably the last new XP2 in the UK. I'm very happy I did and still have it. It's very comfortable in the hand and I believe Acros is better on the 2 than the 3. I think Fuji changed the eyepiece design slightly at some point and I've had no problems at all with the ring coming off. Can't see me trading this one in for the foreseeable future! Happy shooting, your pictures look great from this camera! 😊

I love this camera. I did struggle for months to find the best option when transferring after 10+ years from Canon... and Fuji was the answer. Canon was great in quality but bulky (50D, 6D), heavy and not...everyday-friendly. X-pro2 is perfect and sooo classy. I use all the cheaper f2 lenses to reduce the weight and size (18mm f2 being my choice here). I consider selling those and go for f 1.4 versions but these are way bigger...and portability was why I moved to X-pro2..! Sometime I think abut selling and going full modern Sony A6700 etc. but.... something keeps me with my Fuji.

If I remember correctly the Pro2 also has the same feature the Pro 1 had where you can slide in conversion lenses in the OVF at the flick of a switch to change the percieved focal length, especially if you use longer lenses. The fact that they removed that in the Pro3 while increasing the cost and removing things like the D-Pad is crazy to me. Honestly though, everything that remotely looks like an X100 camera is getting a huge mark up on the used market nowadays, especially in Europe. The X-Pro series was always high in price cause it had a cult following for years (especially the X-Pro 1) but now even the X-E series is getting a markup too which is crazy. Few examples of prices in Europe compared to a few month ago: X-E1s used to be pretty cheap, around 170/200€, now good luck findingnone under 300. (X-Pro 1 was around 400, maybe 450 now but didn't move much) X-E2 and X-E2S used to be 250ish/300, now you see some grtting in the 500/550 territory which is completely nuts. Even worse, you could get an X-E3 for about 500, now the prices are going up to the 700+ (saw some around 800 even) Meanwhile cameras that do not bear that much of a ressemblance with the X100/X-Pro/X-E series like the X-T or X-H cameras are getting pretty low, especially for the performance. I'm thinking in particular about cameras like the X-T2 and X-T20 that are seeing prices as low as 450€, which is crazy compared to X-E3 prices All of that to say that if you don't mind the EVF (which is actually good in these Fujis) youl can end up paying less a camera that is sometimes considerably better (especially if we compare like X-T2 to X-Pro2/E3 or X-T1 to X-E2)

Then again there were some top plate issues reported on the XPro3, as well as the rear LCD's ribbon failures. It will be interesting to see if there is a XPro4, and if that loses the hidden LCD or not. BTW I do like the Dura finish on the XPro3. Finally, nice wood grip on your XPro2. What brand is it?

Yeah the display ribbon/ top panel issues coupled with all of the rumors of an X-Pro 4 successor coming soon got the best of me and I had to return it. I got the X-Pro 1 w/ 23mm F2 for $600 for my wife and the X-Pro 2 for $780 so I made out pretty well. Don't downgrade to the Xpro2. I have the XE4 and sold my xpro2. The xpro2 pretends to be premium but isn't. It is large and heavy for no good reason. The viewfinder is low end in terms of the eyepoint. The fatal flaw is that the EVF and LCDs are unusable (turn black) if you are shooting with polarized sunglasses as is the case when shooting in sun or bright snow. Fuji messed up with the orientation of the LCD polarizers on the Xpro2. The fixed LCD is really limiting compared to the XE4. Ignore the supposed higher camera class that Fuji wants you to believe about the Xpro2. The XE4 is overall a much better camera. Don't downgrade to the Xpro2 for one vacation just because you don't want to carry and umbrella.
@pedroleitao193711 ай бұрын
@@yohan2437 thanks for the feedback, but I took my decision and went to the X-T3 with the 33mm f/1.4 and for now I don’t regret it. The fact I’m visually impaired I needed something where I could use the LCD. Besides I already own a Ricoh GRIII, so I didn’t need two portable cameras, but instead something a bit better that could handle some lenses not that tiny as the f/2 series, and mostly weather resistant. I currently live in Northern Europe, so it would not be only for a trip. Thanks a lot anyway!

All lenses have the same compression. Only the crop changes. With a longer lens you can isolate the compressed parts, but they're in there even with a 35mm. It's the parts far away, no matter what lens.. or eyes. When you look at cars in a huge parking lot, it doesn't matter what lens you use, it's the cars in the far end that are compressed and hard to count. The difference is that with a 300mm you can crop out the far end, in camera so you don't have to do it in post and waste pixels.

I agree, the X-Pro 2 is hard to beat… I have the Graphite Edition, beautiful… I also swear by the X-Pro 1, I have 2 of those, used mostly with Minolta and Konica vintage lenses. Absolutely can’t justify an X-Pro 3. When you get a chance, get an X-Pro 1 if you want to get close to film look.

Just started photography with the fujifilm x pro 2 6 months ago. Was travelling for 5 months and it was worth the purchase. I even made some money. Now I want to get a new lens or some new lenses. I have the 35 mm 1.4 lens and absolutely loving it. Any suggestions? (What do you think of the 56mm F1.2?)
@FilmedbyFresh Жыл бұрын
One of my favorite focal lengths for portraits is 85mm and the 56mm is the equivalent. I’ve also seen good things from the 18mm 1.4 which will probably be my next lens for this upcoming trip

I had one, but sold it and moved to a Canon R6. I enjoyed the Pro2, except for one thing... that fiddly Shutter Speed/ISO dial. It drove me crazy. I don't like shooting in Auto ISO, and changing more than a few stops was a royal pain. It was also frustrating that you couldn't use one of the command dials (like the X-100 and X-E models) to set ISO. I know people who just used Auto ISO and made adjustments with Exposure Comp, but that didn't appeal to me. Loved that camera, except for that. (BTW, I'm actually selling the R6. Nice, but boring. Not sure what's next)

@@FilmedbyFresh Ironically, the next one turned out to be an... X-Pro2. I found a limited edition Graphite model in near perfect condition with the matching 23 f/2 lens. I'm working on my issues with the ISO dial. It's still a fiddly mess, but I just going to keep shooting until I find a comfort zone.

Hi, thanks for video. You are so right about the crazy prices on the X100 models. For a fixed lens camera, are you kidding me. Some great videos on using the Panasonic LUMIX GX9 with good fixed lens of your choice. For so much less money. Less than half. And you can add many good lenses and change when you want. What a crazy idea. Who wants to spend $1500 - $2000 for a single lens camera. Maybe if you have money to burn. Which most owners do not.

I don't see the hype with the x100v. I bought one for a trip. When I got home and saw the footage I immediately sold it. Maybe the next version of the X100. I'd love to see what they do with an X-Pro 4. Coming from a Canon Pro user I wanted an everyday camera to separate me from work and play and I found myself just being addicted to the speed and UI of the Canon System. So I purchased an R50 to use all of my RF Glass with. Since I edit my photos I figured I'm ok ditching recipes. I found myself wanting to edit the Fuji files which is what I wanted to stay away from.

You and me both lol it’s probably a combination of things, lack of inventory, recipes, rising films prices, etc. if it had a fixed 23 or 35mm 1.4 lens I’d like it more but eh. The possibilities for the x-pro 4 excite me but the pro 2 is meeting my needs. Like you said being able to put the work tools down and have a fun camera is valuable and brings back the fun of photography for me.

If they could firmware add the ability to have multiple white balance color shifts I’d have no qualms with it but that’s a pretty stupid qualm. I have a graphite xpro2 I got for $900 (which I thought was crazy back in like 21) and I really stopped and became a prime only let me think about my shots photographer. My wish for an x pro 4 would be ibis and more aspect ratios like 65:24. That plus the pixel shift multi shot would be awesome.

I'm new to photography, and I'm considering purchasing an X-Pro 2.What do you think of the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 when used with an X-Pro 2?
@FilmedbyFresh Жыл бұрын
I am not the biggest fan of zoom lenses but they are invaluable in certain situations and necessary. I think it ultimately depends on your shooting scenario. If you need that flexibility to change your focal range on the fly go for it. It being a constant f2.8 throughout the range is nice and if I were to pick up a zoom lens that is a 24-70 equivalent that would be the one.

Great video! I’m currently debating whether to trade my A7C with the 40mm G lens for an X-Pro2 with the 33mm f/1.4. While the A7C is technically the better camera, it feels a bit lifeless to me-more like a tool than something inspiring to use. I also don’t enjoy editing, so the SOOC (straight out of camera) Fujifilm JPEGs are really appealing. That said, I’m unsure if the trade is worth it. I’d likely sell the 33mm right away and pick up the 27mm pancake lens since I prefer something smaller and wider. I do have plenty of presets in Lightroom that I could use with the Sony, but I’m not sure if they would give me the same satisfaction as Fuji’s JPEGs. What’s your take on this trade? Would the shooting experience and SOOC output from the X-Pro2 outweigh the technical advantages of the A7C? Would love to hear your thoughts!

I had the xpro 2 but unfortunately found Fuji cameras aren't for me. As I'm a Lightroom/Photoshop user and shoot raw 99% of the time, I couldnt deal with the worming effect when sharpening the images. It is a great camera otherwise.
@FilmedbyFresh4 ай бұрын
I am 50/50 on raw vs jpg I still enjoy sitting down and editing a raw file. The RAF files from fuji have edited well in post. What's the worming effect?
@mudgie0694 ай бұрын
@@FilmedbyFresh when you view Fuji Raf files in Photoshop at 100+% the sharpening looks like little worms. It's more an Adobe issue than Fuji but as I use Adobe for editing it was an issue for me. Do a search on Fuji worming sharpening in Photoshop or lightroom and you'll find it's a common problem.
@mudgie0694 ай бұрын
@@FilmedbyFresh When I had my x-pro2 there were issues with all Fuji cameras when it come to sharpening. It was an adobe issue as it wasn't great for sharpening. If you looked at a RAF at 100% + it would look like the sharpening created an effect that looked like worms. It was an Adobe algorithim issue so it made editing Raf files useless in Photoshop/lightroom for me at least. I believe they may well have fixed the issue now but for a long time it was a real problem for people who shot Raf. As I've now moved to another system I'll stick with what I've got but may at some point re-purchase the x-pro2 as it really is a great camera.

Hi there First time visiting your channel all the way from Indonesia 😊 Love your contents and you're a great photographer! I hope I have the same eyes like you to be able to see some photo-worthy moments. I saw you sharing the film recipes and I can't thank you enough saving me from a lot of researches. I have 1 question/favor from you if it's at all possible. I'm actually partially color blind (certain sensitivity toward red & green or whatever it is), but taking picture is my number hobby and I just won't give up. I often get ridiculed for when I tried to edit a raw files, the end result was good to my eyes but apparently not to my in law's family. Probably I didn't see some colors that was a miss there. Anyway, I'm about to embark on my photographic journey again this time after 1 year hiatus with, unfortunately, relying on jpeg photos and quick turnaround so that I can blame the camera's color decision rather than my eyes 😂😂 (j/k). I wonder when you mentioned skin tones, can you recommend/refer/advise me to what kind of recipe that I shall follow to be able to shoot decent jpeg with these following parameters: 1. We are Asian, so Asian skin tones. Although my wife's family skins tend to be more on the yellowish (her word not my eyes) hue rather than white-er. 2. For traveling purpose, non winter days, I like to travel mostly around October, so around fall season. 3. Indoor family party/gatherings 4. Night time using just ambiance lights, bokeh beauty shots with f1. 4 lenses. Is there any recipes that you can recommend me with a knowledge that those 4 situations cover like 95% of my yearly use with a camera? I will follow and trust you blindly because I love your pictures and the vibes that I got from them are soothing my eyes. Thank you in advance, I will be purchasing either xpro 2, xh1, or xt3 within this month. Along with your film recipe suggestions, I just can't wait to get started! Anyway I hope it's not too much of a favor to ask 🙏 You gain a new subscriber and like 🙏 Cheers

You almost said it but I don't think you "got it." The XPro 2 will save you money in the long run... Yes, for the reason you supported. But here's what you may not be thinking, and it's the real savings. The XPro 2 will make you a better photographer if you use it in the way it was designed. You will produce more film bangers after some time on the Fuji because it will require you to push on those basic camera handling skills that film cameras require. You'll get to do this at a much higher shutter count than the cost and time of film shooting will allow. All that repetition and error recalculation will sharpen you! I found that other than film loading, my shooting proficiency and hit rate went way up after shooting with my X Pro 2 for a while. THAT will save a lot of money in wasted frames that all cost money on film.
