Fantasy football involves a lot of luck, and the value of players can shift significantly from one year to the next. When it comes to IDP (Individual Defensive Player) rankings, it's really a guessing game, and predicting how the upcoming season will unfold is quite challenging. Players like Will Anderson (23), Kayvon Thibodeaux (24), and Jack Campbell (24) are at the top due to their youth and potential, while Fred Warner (28) stands out for his proven track record. There are countless videos on KZbin covering mock drafts, rookies, and dynasty leagues, but very few focus on IDP since ranking those players is nearly impossible.

You don’t think there is consistency with IDP players? We don’t disagree that there is higher volatility with IDP players but typically the top players can contribute at a high level for a few years span (Maxx Crosby, TJ Watt, Roquan Smith, etc.)

Guys, Linebackers ratings are not built on numbers. Do you guys actually watch football, or just read stats? Let me make this simple: linebacker ratings have almost nothing to do with raw stats. Players can rack up 180 tackles and still be part of a defense ranked 20th. Fred Warner isn’t an All-Pro because of numbers; he’s an enforcer. That’s why he consistently leads one of the best defenses in the league. Before you put together a list, take the time to do proper research. Check out the NFL Top 100 Players from 2024, 2023, 2022, and 2021. Look at what other All-Pro players say about the #11 player on that list. Watch the film yourself. The effort, skill, and impact he brings to the field are undeniable. Calling him overrated is not just wrong-it’s ignorant. His defenses have never fallen below the top 10 in the NFL, a fact that speaks for itself. To further illustrate why linebacker stats mean little, consider Takeo Spikes in 2004. He had just 96 tackles but was named to his second Pro Bowl. Why? Because he captained the Buffalo Bills defense, which was second in total defense, first in takeaways (39), second against the pass (164 yards/game), third in touchdowns allowed (29), sixth against the run (100.2 yards/game), and sixth in points allowed (17.8/game). His impact went far beyond the stat sheet, just like other elite linebackers.

Appreciate your comment! We wanted to clarify that we are talking about individual defensive player (IDP) fantasy football where we examine how their stats relate to how good they are in fantasy football. Based on your comments, it made it seem to us that you were talking about Fred Warner’s play as a football player?

@@frontofficepros Understood, I never played in a league where defensive players were in play. Apologies if I misunderstood. I see someone go after my All Pro, I gots to talk. Either way, HAGO

You should really try a fantasy football league with individual defensive players (IDP) instead of a team defense! It’s a lot of fun!

@@frontofficepros I may have to check it out. Defense doesnt get enough love. Its always built on the whole team in fantasy.

If you try it, you won’t want to go back but make sure you use multiple IDP’s (we recommend a full 11 player IDP)
