Where I am we also have to talk about the inside of the tire,no bulging, cuts or abrasions, we have to talk about the leaf and torque springs, shock absorbers, pitman arm,cotter pins,brake line,abs line,brake pads,we also have to say there are no illegal welding to the rims,we have to mention the air caps being present,the air gage and how we would measure the air pressure in the tire,there's more hut it is different from state to state...👌🏽

Back when I got my CDL in the 90’s if you wanted an endorsement all you had to do was take a written test. Nowadays you have to take your road test all over again if you want an endorsement even if you already have your damned CDL! It’s ridiculous! & you have to know engine parts as if you’re a mechanic!!!

Intact is another general term for condition or damage, the windshield wiper don’t have molding, it’s the blade. I wonder which state you in because I can almost be certain that the grill and bumper does not need to be spoken about. Inspected the CrossView mirrors but not the bracket? School bus sign doesn’t need to spoken about if you look in section 2 or 11. I doubt you’ll find it anywhere. “ Tread Depth can not, should not or is not less than 4/32nd of a inch. The side clearance lights is possibly referred to as side marker if you look in section 2. The battery compartment needs a bit more of info than stated however you talking with confidents. That’s good. I promise that if you check section 11, you get no credit for kicking the tires

The three lights in the middle front and rear You call them clearance lights, Are they not ID lights.. For the pre-trip inspection do you not have to do the inside, in cab, talk about the instruments, do you not have to call out the instruments within the engine compartment.....
@TheActiveAuntie7 ай бұрын
So while in my training I was told people will label those lights all different names but when I did my test I used the verbiage “clearance lights” bc that’s what I was taught and the road test instructor was fine with that as well! Also in my first BUS video i believe I do mention that in order to pass your road test you will need to know safe start, inside, outside inspection, and under the hood but all testing instructors are different they may not have you do it all but you need to know it all. That’s why I tried breaking it down in different videos!!!

Forgot to ask, if you have your CDL with just a passenger already & you get offered a job where they’ll sponsor you to get your School bus endorsement, will your road test be easier at the DMV or will you be required to do the same test as someone who’s never had a CDL? 🤔
@TheActiveAuntie2 ай бұрын
You have to retake the same road test for every endorsement you want to add.

Good morning Corazón How are you Question ? How hard it’s to drive a big bus’s is that with license B ?
@TheActiveAuntie5 ай бұрын
The big bus is license B and I prefer driving the big bus over the short bus honestly. There are more blind spots on the short buses. With the big bus the biggest thing is not turning too soon or too late but it's really simple and now when I drive my big bus it feels like Im just driving a SUV or something. I literally forget that I am in a big ol bus lol

Hey Ms Auntie I’m curious do you get paid by the hour or salary? Also, do some companies that hire you pay for your school to get your endorsement? 🤔 I got an interview where they pay you by salary & I’m going to see what they say about them paying for my training. Oh & do you have another job over the summer? Any advice is appreciated, thanks 🙂
@TheActiveAuntie2 ай бұрын
Yes, so I've noticed that all companies pay different. In my area a lot of the companies will pay for your training but not necessarily the written test itself. My company paid for my training but I had to pay the $125 to take the written test at the DMV. My job offers summer school So ill drive during then. So I am out of work for about a month 1/2 and I will save money throughout the school year so that I have money to cover me for that month 1/2 because I prefer not to have to work in the summer.

To drive school buses wouldn’t I have to have experience ? I’ve been searching and everyone wants experience.
@TheActiveAuntie7 ай бұрын
It really has to be based off the company. My company didn't require any experience I just had to get my licenses and pass all the required DMV tests!
@tonylin96396 ай бұрын
That’s crazy how many of us have experience? We only gain experience through training with the bus company, it’s not like we can just ask a friend or relative to teach us driving around in a bus.

@@TheActiveAuntie it’s for air breaks to see if your warnings come on if air pressure is lost. At 60-90 psi you get your first warning and at 30-40 psi your spring break/emergency brake pops out and is supposed to engage. The second part of the check is to see if your compressor works and fills the air tank, and if the air relief valve goes pssssst at 120 psi, or at full. Third part is seeing if your spring break holds. So with the spring break engaged, you put the bus in drive and hit the gas to make sure it doesn’t move. And the last part is the 5 mph service break check to see if your service break works and to see if your bus pulls to the left or right at all.

when you go to your driving test. The instructor could require you to do the whole pre trip inspection so they may require you to list off all the parts of the bus. You really don't know what the instructor will have you do just be prepared knowing it all!
