I’d go with Colorado. They just seem like the ultimate wildcard team and they play in the power conference that should have by far the most parity. Last year they had like 8 1-score games with some great and some awful teams.

Nah, yeah I agree that southern cal is the most unpredictable team... The fact that they aren't suited to physical defenses like the ones that thrive in this conference has me doubting their reliability. But they are explosive, so anything can happen. All depends how physical the opponent is and how bad that team's offense is.

As god-awful as they were, OU's defense got the potential game winning stop in the 1st OT of the 2017 Rose Bowl. But on 4 and less than 1yd Riley had more faith in OU's defense than his offense and elected to kick a FG. Riley's tiny balls are just as damning as his defenses.

That first 2 big ten games of Michigan and Wisconsin will be a measuring stick both programs usually are good on the lines and are usually tough on line of scrimmage.USC has had struggles against those types of teams under Riley.

I think it will be interesting to see how the defense adjusts over the next few seasons. I have no concern really about the offensive side of the ball, but with the defense losing talent and coaches, I am hoping that southern cal can get the defense straightened out or they will have a tough time up north especially in the trenches

@@Roll-Tide-99 Wisconsin has a bye before USC and USC plays Michigan the week before Wisconsin.Wisconsin is improving their roster under Fickell in recruiting, every year their roster will improve in talent some similarities to the early Franklin years at PSU improving the recruiting/talent level.I think Wisconsin beats USC this year. I think there will be an adjustment period for Riley getting used to the Big Ten.Oregon i think there will be less of adjustment period compared to UCLA USC and Washington getting used to big ten.

The defense isn't good enough and the only scheduling break is no Ohio State or Oregon. LSU is better than you think, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Penn State just outmuscle them and Notre Dame has more talent and is better-coached. I think Nebraska gets better the more they play, and the upset USC in the Coliseum. I also think Maryland shocks them. 5-7 and Lincoln Riley runs away again. This is his last year at USC and probably last in an elite job because it is painfully clear this guy can't field a defense. He's Clay Helton with better recruiting.

Mega Conferences ? Many of us old Boomer farts have switched to the NFL . The thrill of College Football used to be if you played a Power 5 school ( don’t think it was called that back then ) from somewhere in the Country it was a thrill . At one time there were Conferences that rarely saw each other . The only Big Ten /SEC match up I recall in the 70s was Kentucky versus Indiana . Then in late 70s we saw Alabama and Ohio State in Sugar Bowl and finally regular seasons opened up. There should have been none of this garbage going on right now of merger and acquisition . Wall Street has taken over College football . Could the Saudis get in the game and bring CF to its knees like they did with the PGA ? I don’t know but I do think USC ought to sue and get that Natty back that they won because Reggie Bush got his Heisman back .
