Any idea what your camp kicking bear event will be this year? I want to make sure my dad and I can make it. Implementing your systems and still developing our first farm we were able to pass a a bunch of 140-150 inch deer and my dad harvested his biggest to date 185 non typical with his bow over a water hole and scrape! Alot of people use rechargables. I never had much luck with them tho.

I love a good survivor season! So far this winter we have been replacing batteries and using all of our Reveal lithium battery packs. We love them!! I think we have replaced about 25 so far and have been using them throughout the year. I'm not sure they last as long as lithium AA, but if they don't it's very close. Our battery bill last year tho...DANG! We had one order that was 600 batteries. They were about $1.85 each...the math sucks 😬

The reveal battery packs look like the way to go. I have been buying bulk Amazon basics batteries. They are relatively cheap, but my heaving usage cameras need to be changed monthly or so.

Are the injuries due from an infection in there hoves? Looks like 3 of your bucks have an infection like they may have stepped on something? Thorns maybe. Bo, barry and i forgot the 3rds name. Seems to be a common issue for you. Maybe just nature of the beast. Deer in my area dont live that long.lol.

Not sure, they all seem different! McFly came in late in Dec with a limp. Jr was limping but had a wound on his right rear rump. Isaac had a wound too. Puncture wounds from antlers? Shorty had a crooked neck...weird! Barry's hoof is very swollen.

Target buck on 1 property hunt was ruined twice by dogs on adjoining property.I did see him bedded two times after at 70+ yds and no shot opportunities.I was within an Industrial park safety zone and although it was firearm season i was bow hunting.Hope you see all yours in 2024 season Jeff!!

A lot of 4 plus bucks. Should be a fun summer/fall going after them! Do you find that certain neighborhoods in SE MN have significantly more mature bucks than others?

Hi Alex!! Definitely the neighborhood and then there is a disproportionate # of mature bucks per acre on certain lands that folks work very hard on. Big bucks are in the neighborhood because of folks with common goals, and then only a fraction of those lands hold most of those deer during the daylight because of hunting and habitat strategy.

Off topic but I was wondering if you have heard of the CJ Alexander Ohio buck a possible potential record. But it's been confiscated by the DNR. What are your thoughts do you think it was a legitimate harvest?

Did ya ever think of taking a milk jug and put 2 cups of salt in it with ware half full to keep the ice from freezing on your water holes🤷🏻

Yeah it works the only down to like 5° below freezing. Anything more than that it's going to freeze

Do you do any phone call or email or something i dont have the $$ to get you guys to come out but i need a little help lol i got a 4yr old that made it that has a chance of being a true once in a lifetime buck he was close to 30in wide this yr i hunt on a 160acre camp that still has to function as a camp thur the summer
