2024 Toyota Corolla Hatchback SE POV Test Drive & Review

I've had a 24 SE for a few months. This little car is so comfy & quick. I fling it around corners and buzz through traffic like it's nothing. The independent rear suspension really helps this car and it's immediately noticeable in the ride quality. In parking lots this thing is luxury - fit in to any spot and weave your way in and out of crowded areas. It turns on a dime with little effort. On highways you can set cruise control with the lane centering and just keep a light finger on the wheel - just like a Tesla! LOL. No rattles, no cheap excess plastics, leather armrests and steering wheel, wireless carplay! - for $25K this car is a steal and it's fun! Loved your review ❤

Did you run into any problems with finding a dealership with this in stock? In central Pennsylvania, these are few and far between- especially the XSE trim.

@@cgmiddle I did find that dealerships had little to no stock. I purchased the car from my local Toyota dealership through the website - without test driving it and it came in from another dealership after a few weeks. If you contact your local Toyota dealership let them know what you're looking for they can probably find it elsewhere and bring it in for you. But yes - nobody close to me (NY) had one available for me to sit and drive. Happy hunting!

I rented a 2024 Corolla LE sedan for a road trip this week. I turned on cruise after I got on the highway, and first time a semi merged in front of me it slowed way down. I got nervous someone was going to run up on me from behind. I tapped the cruise button a few times and it changes the distance setting, with less lines meaning closer. I set it at one line and it was perfect the entire time I had it, keeping me just the distance I would keep if I wasn’t using CC. I was highly impressed with that! Brake hold is an excellent feature I wish every vehicle had.

My Yaris hatchback had more interior volume even though it was a foot shorter. It also got 38 mpg city. Since they don’t make the Yaris hatchback anymore, this is my next car

The only thing I don't like is the sound system is meh and no sunroof. But not to be too harsh because those are just details. The positive overwhelm the negative.

You can still get a manual with certain trim packages like the GR corolla.

it’s crazy how heavy cars are getting. just 10 years ago corollas weighed no more than 2600lbs. now they’re approaching 3100lbs. my old AWD subaru which was built like a tank weighed the same. Topher reviewed the corolla underbody and it was all steel and no aluminum anywhere to be seen. yet these cars are going for a premium of $35k these days. Toyota quality has gone downhill and their prices higher. sad.
