For example the underpowered 2.7 I have had 39 % friction and using Mellitec -1 , Marvel Mystery oil my mechanic uncle used in the arctic for 55 years for cold and friction starts and carbon cleaning and I use Signature Amsoil - 20 . NOW, I can drive with the shitty slow transmission and use my synchro shifter for control and with the reduced 18 % friction I get to more hp and torque. What this means is that I can do this to this 2024 and protect the turbo and remove half the friction in the motor and extend life and raise performance.

I owned a 2020 Tacoma TRD Offroad long bed, which I thought was going to be my dream truck, but I absolutely hated it. Despite its $45k price tag, it was the worst driving truck I've ever had and I've owned ALL of the midsize trucks over the years. I got rid of it after just 8 months because it was so annoying to drive. Since the 2024 is a ground up redesign, I suspect Toyota has finally addressed the transmission, vibration, performance shortcomings of the current gen. I still haven't purchased a replacement truck because none of the other brands does it for me either. I've been waiting for the next gen Tacoma in hopes that it finally becomes my dream truck. If it does, I will buy a loaded TRD Offroad long bed hybrid. Sadly this configurations will certainly be over $50k, which is absolutely insane but hopefully this will be my last truck purchase. In any case, I will wait until at least summer 2025 because I want to give them plenty of time to resolve launch issues that will certainly come up.

No info on that yet. Remember, when you order from a Toyota dealer, you're not ordering directly from the factory. The dealer puts in a request and the factory sends out allocations to dealers that *may* include your desired build, but it's not guaranteed. A higher volume dealer will be more likely to get your build, but dealers are going to use their allocations to request top-level, expensive builds with lots of black, white and grey colors that are maxed out.

dropping the v6 makes this truck no longer and option for me.

I own a 2021 V6 and it was an absolute turd until I threw a Magnuson supercharger at it. The 2GR is a great motor but a terrible truck motor. The new hybrids are going to have gobs of electrically assisted torque (more than my S/C V6) right off idle - where you need it in a truck. Kinda wish I'd waited a few years before pulling the trigger on a new Taco. I could have basically bought the truck I've built for the same price and not have voided my warranty lol.

I used to like this truck. Why get a truck with a 4 cylinder!?!

All these bells and whistles, non- naturally aspirate engines will likely be a headache for a while. Also I don’t really care much for its looks.

It gets confusing with so many trims.

The 3.5 V6 isn’t the greatest. It’s no 4.0.

Looks like it has some TRX/Jeep 392 influence. Still under powered. Typical toyota. But i'm sure the reliabity is still there.

The iForce Max is pretty good for a mid-sized truck: 326 horsepower/465 lb ft of torque. I have a 2004 4Runner with a 4.7-liter V8, and it's only good for 235 horses and 320 lb ft of torque.

We'll have to wait until Toyota publishes it closer to the release. Figure on better than the V6 which was not very good.

@@revmatchtv my 21 takoma is a pig big turn off. And I hope it's not a big price increase
@revmatchtv Жыл бұрын
@@peterlindner8819 I'd guess $1-4K over the current models depending on trim level. I'd expect bigger increases at the top end with TRD Pro. Trailhunter will be up there too I'd guess.
