I love Rory, but I was rooting so hard for Bryson. He's such a great guy, and his KZbin work makes him so likeable. He treats everyone so well, he lets people in, he mixes it up with the golf KZbin scene and treats them like equals. He has presented himself so well and has attracted so many fans with that kind of stuff. Really happy for him. He's been playing, imo, the best golf in the world over the last 10-12 months. He has consistently had wins or high finishes with a 58 in there.

It wasn't that long ago that Bryson was most people's least favorite player. The fans following him today, I believe, I a result of the work he's put in on his KZbin channel. It took a long time for me to warm up to the guy because he came off so arrogant. I gave the guy a chance though and continued to catch him doing videos with all the KZbin golfers I like, which showed a different side of him. I'm a convert, and I'm pumped for the guy.

People don't realize how difficult Pinehurst No.2 is. In 2005, during his prime, Tiger turned in a +2 and lost. That so many of these guys are below par for the weekend is a testament to how much better the field is than it was 25 years ago; athletically, using statistics for shot selection, and technology in the equipment. The course certainly hasn't gotten easier. Donald Moss was a genius.

Bryson's tenacity and self-belief won him this one. Rory's lack of self-belief lost him this one - and so many other majors. There was a time in Rory's career where he would've walked off that 13th green 8-under par and two strokes ahead and been pushing to get to double digits. Here, he was just trying to win by one shot, no matter what that score was. He never leveraged the emotions of the crowd, never expected to make any of the longer or mid-range putts he made that put him in position to win, and certainly expected to miss the short ones that did him in. Sad to see one of the most talented players of all-time become such a headcase. Could have a dozen majors by now.
