Hey Harsha Aiya, I have something important to ask. I’m 24 and just finished my A-Levels. I want to do an IT Bachelor’s degree here in Sri Lanka. But a lot of people are telling me to do NVQ Level 4 and 5 and try going to the UK as a caregiver instead. I really want to move abroad. Since you know about caregiver visas and have been living in the UK for years, can you tell me what’s the best thing I should do right now?

There are pros and cons in both options. Getting a healthcare visa is not as easy as it used to be right now due to the new rules. However it’s still possible with a bit of luck, trying smart, right qualifications and experience. Can’t bring dependants as a healthcare assistant. Don’t get a healthcare worker visa from Sri Lanka through a dodgy healthcare company. You’ll be jobless once you get here. At the same time, it is possible to get a skilled worker visa with an IT degree with the same effort I’ve mentioned above. There is an option of Global Talent visa as well if you meet the requirements. See the link below.
