It seems like you're discussing the Premier Qualifying Flights (PQF) and Premier Qualifying Points (PQP) earned on a trip with United Airlines and its Star Alliance partners. PQFs are based on the number of flight segments flown, while PQPs are based on the base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges on flight purchases. From your description, it appears that Erin and Phil, both being 1K members, earned about 9,300 miles and 845 PQPs each from your round trip. Brooklyn and Colt, who are Premier Platinum members, earned different amounts of miles and PQPs for the same trip. Brooklyn earned about 7,600 miles and 845 PQPs, while Colt earned a little over 6,000 miles and 675 PQPs. The difference in miles and PQPs between Brooklyn and Colt is indeed puzzling, especially since they are both Premier Platinum members and presumably traveled on the same flights. Age should not be a factor in the accumulation of miles and PQPs, as these are typically based on the fare paid and the distance flown. One possible explanation could be the fare class of their tickets. Different fare classes can earn different amounts of miles and PQPs. If Brooklyn and Colt were booked under different fare classes, this could account for the discrepancy. However, without more information, it's hard to say for certain why there's a difference. I recommend reaching out to United Airlines' customer service for a more detailed explanation. They should be able to provide a breakdown of how the miles and PQPs were calculated for each passenger. If you find out, I'd be interested to know the reason too! 😊

What a travel day! Such a thorough explanation of the benefits of your 1K status on United…so helpful for anyone wanting to learn more about airline loyalty programs! My son has always loved Manga like Brooklyn! I remember traveling with all the books, when he was younger. 😊 Loved the look of the merino wool pieces!❤

That's so cool! Personally, I'd rather have all the manga on an iPad to save the weight and bulk of the backpack, but not Brooklyn! 😄

Good breakdown on PQPs & PQFs, though I’ll have to watch your video again for more clarity. I could never retain UNITED’s explanation in their website regarding these P’s & F’s, so glad to hear it from the experts Erin & Phil. The kids are troopers for enduring the ever changing timetables in your world travels. Cole’s glasses look cool on him, makes him look even smarter than he already is.

I’m a United Flight Attendant, SFO based. Thanks for flying with us. But honestly, I despise DEN, 😂 I think it’s one of the worst airports 😂. Just because I was stuck there for 2 days back in December 2022 during Southwest meltdown 😂 anyways, I hope I get to work the flights that you’ll be on next time 😊

I don’t get the hate on DEN. Easy to get around, the train is fast, cap 1 lounge and centurion. I don’t know I’d rather be in DEN than IAH, IAD, ORD or even ATL. The construction is a bummer but it’s not terrible.

Hello Lockwoods! I hope you're getting your well-deserved rest after that long flight. Been following you guys for a couple of months now but It's just on this particular episode that I've decided to finally drop a comment as this one struck me as one of the most interesting personally and closest to my heart. Why? I'm a Filipino who used to be a Colorado resident almost two decades ago and lived in Lakewood for five years. Seeing you guys do a little feature on Denver International and walked through it gave me some real pleasant flashbacks indeed, especially seeing that good ol' Jamba Juice is still there and when you rode the train going through the concourses. I now live here in Bulacan (just barely an hour drive from Manila) so let me be one of the first to WELCOME you guys back to your second home. The climate is just right for your arrival as it's not that humid yet here and there's still that 'Amihan' wind blowing here and there. MABUHAY!

I have always found it best and most satisfying on a trip to do as this family does, Uber is mandatory, the old "hey, can you take me to the airport?" No way Jose! Also, yes book your flights carefully with layovers and transfer times in mind. You don't want to spend the night in the airport with children. And flying business/first is WAY WAY WAY worth it and not much more if you shop carefully. You get free check bags, meals on board, first to board and you board, and the comfort is incomparable.

What would you Recommend. What is the best way to vlog with a Camera like yours. I still find saying something in public is a bit nervous for me. Do you have any tips?

The most stupid thing. A bean counter that doesn't care or thinking. She didn't think about the total weight of your combined luggage. Moving it from one bag to another gives the same total. The weight is consideration for plane fuel, landing weight, etc. She could have saved you the trouble. Of course, that would require an overdrive from her supervisor. And why would she bother with that extra step, right?

United is the worst airline. 1 lb over in 1 bag when you have 1 lb under bag is fine with other airlines. UA actually made you move the 1 lb. You're missing out a lot by choosing UA instead of an airline like Singapore if you go to Asia a lot. Why even stick with them if you don't have lounge access. We avoid UA like the plague.
@AlwaysBeChanging8 ай бұрын
We actually find a lot of value with UA since our main airport in the US is Denver. It would be hard for us to gain status on other airlines and find the upgrades and prices we’re comfortable with.
