They are what they are. Have a newish one, an older one Identical to it (my Avatar) and a much older one with a BMW motor....had a Harley and a Triumph rig. Saying that, love the straight cut gears (best for sidecar use) and basically would not be without one....

I own a Gear Up 2022 and drove in that time more than 30000km. Most of them on the TET (Trans Europe Trail) it has more than 50000km across Europe. No problems, no trouble... Only fuel, maintanance and tires. I love this bike like all my grandchilds did

Got a 2016 ural ct and I love it! It’s a bike that makes you take your time😄, buy second hand it’s a lot cheaper than brand new!

I own a 2021 Gear Up... just a few thoughts. Uphills, off pavement, loaded with passenger and gear I can tell you this, 1st gear is geared too high for real world off pavement work which is a REAL SHAME IMHO. The Sachs shocks are worthless POS. The Enduro bench seat is as comfortable as a brick up the backside. 2wd is very handy and so is reverse. Just about every person that sees you either smiles or waves. UDF, Ural Delay Factor, is for real. Ural's 3 yr warranty is a must and they are great at honoring it. I run Duro 307 trail tires and surprisingly, they work very well. Don't expect to zip up hills 6% or more any faster than say 40-50Mph. Owning one is a lesson in pulling over at wide spots to let traffic go by that we were holding up and never been flipped off! Waves, photos smiles even some stares but, everyone is like "Oh a sidecar. Must be old and slow." That and I have a reflective sign that reads, "Please Be Patient" on the back. Suspension upgrade is expensive at $1500.00-3k+. But the one thing that I would say is the most annoying thing about my Gear Up is the lack of a Granny Low Gear to be able to crawl over an obstacle. It is a HUUGE drawback. It means a lot of clutch work and irritation, so, get a winch if your seriously going off road. You will need it. If you're the typical Uralista that never takes the machine off pavement then the gearing will be fine and as you say, "Shifts like a tractor." The $34,000.00 version has good suspension but is it really worthy of that price? My answer is a sad "No." For less you could buy a street legal side by side that is much more capable and won't pound you to death and into physical therapy for an impinged spine. Of course that wouldn't be as "COOL" though.😵‍💫

J'ai acheté une URAL 2WD usagée avec moins de 2000 kms d'usage. Je suis encore à me familiariser avec ce tracteur bruyan à 3 roues dont la puissance est hélas inversement proportionnelle au prix. J'en rêvais depuis 7 ans pour amener un ami ''incarcere'' dans un CHSLD se balader autrement qu'en chaise roulante. Attention aux virages à droite! Dommage que ce véhicule improbable,démodé,anémique avec seulement 4 vitesse ne soit pas fabriqué par Honda mettons.la fiabilité et le plaisir en seraient décuplé à 30% moins cher...et les pièces seraient plus faciles et plus rapides à obtenir. Le positif ce tracteur russe à le droit de rouler sur les routes...

Comparing this to a modern bike/sidecar is nonsense. This was designed (Pre-Germany WWII) to haul troops, ammunition, heavy loads and into combat. They were designed for work and Not comfort. When you comes to terms with that realization, you will understand and enjoy it a bit more.

The frame/fork set-up is not supposed to be good as a solo. Old beemer would be a better bet.

This in some ways is the main problem with Urals: they were designed to be sidecar motorbikes and nothing else. Solo bikes might be nice looking, but apart from that there are better options like Royal Enfields and such. Ural tried to sell solo bikes but that went nowhere really since their handling as solo bikes is mediocre at best from all I've heard (didn't try a solo one myself though). This restricts them to produce an engine and a frame solely for sidecar motorbikes which in itself is a very small marked. That in many ways explains the high price per item.

Very simplistic attitude. This is a good for-profit capitalist company. They can’t help what their leaders do. And as someone else said, they moved their factory to Kazakhstan and their headquarters is in Washington State in the USA. I’m not going to hate everybody in Russia because of their leaders politics. I don’t hate America just because we have a scumbag in the Whitehouse at the moment.
