I found if you didnt wanted it to shift in automatic mode you just have better control of your RPMs . Figure out the RPMs of when it does shift I try to keep it under that when climbing Or in technical stuff. Just my strategy when in automatic .

I'm trying to figure witch of the two I want myself ... manual trans and grease fittings are nice.. but so is the R-MAXR

@raybernabe7660 myself i prefer the rmax , i like the upright seating position better, more storage and it fits my riding style better. The yxz is a good trail machine now though but depends if you want something sporty or not.
