2024 Zonals Interviews - Svitlana Demchenko

The 2024 Canadian Zonal and Women's Zonal was hosted at Hart House from March 27th to April 2nd, 2024. Hosted by the Hart House Chess Club, this 10-round tournament welcomed 258 players from across Canada and elsewhere, who competed in five sections.
The main sections were the Canada Zonals and Women's Zonals which had direct qualification to the FIDE World Cup and spots to represent the Canadian team at the 2024 Olympiad in Budapest.
This video was shot, edited, and directed by Sahan Karunaratne and Norman Huang and interviews Women International Master Svitlana Demchenko.
At the time of the interview, Svitlana Demchenko was the 2023 Canadian Women's Closed Champion. She was a five-time Canadian Girls Champion and a two-time North American Girls Champion in different age categories. Demchenko has been a member of the Canadian Women’s Olympiad Team since 2018, and has represented Canada at the Women’s World Cup.
