#2024CW34

Hi everyone,
This is my collage for week 34 of the challenge being hosted by Margarete Miller this year ( see below for details, if the #2024CW challenge is new to you and/or if you’re interested in taking part).
The prompts set for this assignment were as follows:
1. ‘A place’ ~ I chose a bookmark for my image of a place. I picked it up in
Puglia, Italy which is renowned for its Trulli. These are traditional
Apulian dry stone huts with conical roofs.
2. ‘ Something that makes a sound in a pattern’ ~ Both crickets and
birds have repetitive sounds that form a pattern so I used both on
my collage.
3. ‘ A portion of a blank form’ ~ Again I used two: an expired Customs
and Excise form and also a faux hospital dietary form .
4. ‘Someone else’s handwriting’ ~ I seem to be on a roll for using more
than one piece for my prompts this week because again I chose two; a
beautiful piece of vintage, handwritten indenture and a scrape left
over from the faux wine label that I used in last week’s assignment.
5. ‘Something inspired by a fairytale’ ~ In amongst my stash I had a
beautiful portrait of a lady in the most gorgeous of costumes.
I imagined her as a fairy princess.
Bonus ‘Random marks with paint or a pen’ ~ I almost forgot to add these to my assignment but remembered the omission as I was quickly going through the prompts at the end of the video...phew! Quickly grabbing a black fine ribbed pen from the pen pot on my desk I did a few random lines to the background to mimic grasses...tick.

💜💜💜 another beautiful collage page! When I see vintage handwriting, I think of my grandfather and his ledgers for the business. It amazes me that gentlemen back then had such beautiful handwriting!!!

I have a real 'thing' for beautiful penmanship.... it makes my hear sing when I find some. My father was chastised at school for his handwriting so taught himself Copperplate script and he invariably wrote with a fountain pen. All his letters, ledgers and notes are such a treasure. Thanks so much, Anne. It needed something in that place, didn't it......lol. It's amazing what you see when you think you've finished your assignment. That's why I tend to pop them into their cello bags and leave them be until I pull them all together into my journal at the end of the year. Otherwise I'd be 'faffing' with them forever....lol. Carol your fairy princess is beautiful. I love how this one turned out. If you had used the other focal points, I think that would have been nice too , but I do agree this layout is the best. TFS

It took me a wee while to realise that cheeky chappie wasn't quite working for me and I was soooo much happier with that other lovely image. It all felt like it slotted into place once I change him out. BUT he'll still find his way into my 2024 MM journal at the end of the year. TFW and for leaving me a comment again. OMG, STUNNING! The pieces/images are all PERFECT (as usual) and that was a great save at the end with those marks! As for the little cutie, well done ... I hope you can work that piece into your completed journal somewhere because I love it too! That book page turned out to be the best background didn't it.

For me there was no contest between that stunning image and the imp but it took me a while to realise it.....grooooan!!! AND THEN, forgetting one of the prompts.... tell you I am loosing it 😱 Seriously though, that cheeky chappie was looking up at me from amongst the scraps on my desk at the end of recording the video, calling me to 'do something' with him.... so I did. He'll deinfinitely find a new home in my 2024 MM journal. I look at his face and it makes me smile....lol. BIG hugs C xx Ps. email has landed.. YEA !!!!

Personally I would not cover the image with the bird because it is beautiful and a shame to cover or cut cut.

It was such a gorgeous image and I too was hesitant about popping the bird on it, but it just didn't look connected on the other side where I originally intended putting it.
