Your video caused me to do a quick Auto Trader search for Tacoma TRD Pros in my area. One certified was listed at $75k, the other was $70k after a $5k discount. Toyota is crazy with these prices. This is American dollars too. My 2019 Pro was $42k out the door.

In Southern California a 2023 TRD Pro with less than 1k miles goes for $56k.

Indeed, and the 4Runner being an SUV will be heavier and more expensive than it's Tacoma counterpart, so looking nearly $100k. I own a new GX550 Overtrail and am very VERY disappointed with the lack of visible luxury interior vs the price paid. I think I had 1 option to change the color of the center inserts on the seats.. That is it... Last year I sold my beloved, and very modded 2019 4Runner TRD Offroad Premium. I have sellers remorse and truly regret letting it go, and going to buy another, as a cash purchase. I'm finding them accident free starting as low as $31k USD, which is an excellent bargain, in comparison to the new Tacoma, 6th gen 4Runner. They will quickly shoot up in value, so buy now! Paying nearly $100k for Toyota's new stripped down trucks that are powered by turbo 4 cylinder is unacceptable.

Not sure why you never went for the current KDSS version of the 4runner if you are that sensitive to the body roll on highway.

Any word on when it's coming out? Figured I could order one late 2024 since I need a car now. Announced it a good while ago and we're a few weeks away from 2025 and absolute silence from Toyota. Almost like they don't want to release it anymore.

Thank you David/Stephan for this awesome collab video its a nice breath of fresh Canadian air to hear from you both on the new Toyota line up on the new platform, they are all very nice vehicles, they have just become out of the price range for the every day driver/user who wants a truck or SUV that is not from the big 3 ,the only one i would consider buying is a Ford Bronco and its not near Toyota quality either ,although it has had good results on average since its reintroduction a few years back, when i retire in in about 5 years I am hoping to get anew ,most likely used clean 4 Runner or Tacoma , if they are too pricey i will get a Bronco in place of the Toyota product , new Dodge or GM stuff just sucks, my nephew is a house builder and bought a new GMC 2500 4x4 crew cab for his business and family , it has the Duramax with the Allison 10 speed auto and the transmission is gone in under 80k kilometres and has never towed over 7000 lbs with it, good thing for extended warranty, I saw this when i worked for GM back in the early 90's when things were still pretty good and trucks were becoming more mainstream and out selling cars 👍

The Land Cruiser looks much more refined and elegant than the 4Runner. While I like 4Runners, they always give off a younger kid / off-roader type vibe. The Land Cruiser can be dressed up or dressed down and is much more mature in its prowess.

David, excellent collaboration with Stephen from Truck King!😊 He and his father do the important off road tests I need to see before I buy a 4x4 for my adventures and winters. From my 14 years experience with Toyota 4x4s, I am confident that the only difference between driving the new Tacoma vs the 6th gen 4Runner will be from the added weight in the rear half of the 4Runner vs the lighter bed of the Tacoma, as pickup truck beds are lighter. In the interior, it looks like the Japanese built 4Runner will have some different sourced materials too, which is good, but after 12 years with two beloved 5th gen 4Runners, I have moved on from 4Runner and won't be buying a 6th gen, but only because I wanted to move up to a luxury platform for my offroad adventure/winter driving. Very insightful as always😊

@@AutomotivePress I thought North American market would never have a modern suitable luxury alternative to my 4Runner, until the car gods FINALLY answered my prayers lol with the unveiling of the GX550 with available Overtrail model, then the car gods went even father and announced my true North American market dream SUV (an LX closer to the LC 300 GR Sport) with the Lexus LX 700h announcement, also with an proper offroad (Overtrail) model, that adds a rear AND front locking differentials, to go along with the standard center diff locker, making for THREE locking differentials, just like the LC 300 Series GR Sport! I feel like Lexus is finally listening to North American market buyers, like me😊
@AutomotivePress8 күн бұрын
@@lunamaria1048 I know it’s exciting! Are you going to buy the LX700h overtrail?
@lunamaria10488 күн бұрын
@@AutomotivePress The long answer: The 300 Series GR Sport has been my dream 4x4 ever since it released in 2021, but of course it is not available in North American market, because Americans complained it was too expensive. Japan has the off road Lexus LX600 model that is exclusive to JDM. It is the Lexus equivalent of the 300 Series of the GR Sport, with every offroad feature the GR Sport has, such as 3 locking differentials etc, with the only difference being Lexus does not use EKDSS on LX models, even in Japan's market. Short Answer: Yes! We always have a Range Rover, and our last one was VERY expensive, especially in Canada. The LX700h is going to be our first time buying a direct Range Rover competitor, over the Range Rover. I am very excited! We have just moved into a nice house on a very reasonable multi year lease, so we have room for more than 1 vehicle again 😊

Thanks guys Great looking rigs -but because the power plant (4 cylinder turbo with a battery) and price its a hard pass for me and a lot of people. The new Honda V6 passport is going to be the next reliable off-road king soon. Im very glade we purchased a 2024 4Runner pro because i believe these will be sought after because its the last of the Japanese V6 and simple and reliable Toyota everyone came to love.

We are anxiously waiting for a 2025 4Runner Trailhunter. We are tired of all the delays. I ended up buying a 2024 Rav4 Prime for my wife as I finally found one in the Chicago market for MSRP. My 2014 4Runner is getting old, the tech and driving dynamics are in dire need for an upgrade. We used it to tow our trailer out West and it was adequate, but not good. More power, towing and tow/haul mode including an integrated brake controller should help. I'm on a waiting list so hoping to get one in the spring if and when they are released.

Why do all these KZbinrs keep saying the choices are confusing??? They are NOT confusing... If you want a large truck go with Tundra, small truck go with Tacoma. A bit smaller SUV that has non hybrid and hybrid and a more aggressive form then go with 4runner, an SUV with more classic look and a classic name and more expensive built then the Landcruiser, and finally a large luxury city SUV go with Sequoia. Done and done.besides buying a car is highly subjective and the look of some vehicles appeal to some and not others. Choices are good, just don't confuse yourself 😅

Can you explain which trim level of the 4Runner will get full-time 4WD. My understanding is that it may only be certain trims of the Limited and if that is the case I would have to go for those ones since I believe that system is far superior inroad in slippery conditions.

My primary reason I won’t buy a 4Runner is the part time 4WD. I don’t like the limited’s cosmetics. Lexus GX overtrail is where I’m going

I don't like the seating position in the new Tacoma which will be the same for the 4Runner. Visibility was always a strong point for the 4R, not so much now. Although the 4Runner started off based on the Toyota truck platform, it progressed to be very similar to the Lexus GX470 and 460 platform. Now it is being downgraded to the Tacoma and the Land Cruiser is related to the GX.

Here in Southern California, our power company uses SR5’s for field personal. They sell back the cars after two years to employees. I talked to one of the guys. He loves the truck. He can be in the truck 8-10 hours a day sometimes more depending on the weather and emergency power outages. It’s very comfortable and a stable truck in every condition.

So what will fail first? Turbo, engine, transmission, clutch, suspension, fitment, etc. why not have a lottery on what will fail first? As a person who has invested in over 400 Toyotas over the last 25 years it is the end for us until there is a change at headquarters. They eliminated quality for profit and we are seeing like with every other company that has done this a complete disaster for the customer
