Thanks for the video! I think the reason GPT-4o uses GPT-4 when you ask it to code an API request to OpenAI is that, during its fine-tuning, it was likely updated with knowledge of its predecessor (GPT-4). However, it wouldn't have knowledge beyond the time of its fine-tuning. Essentially, GPT-4 was fine-tuned and equipped with additional multimodal tools to become GPT-4o, and that fine-tuning process likely introduced GPT-4 to itself.
