I highly recommend to start making music on Fl Studio and not a MPC. @FL_STUDIO @BoloDaProducer @Producergrind @LarryOhh @busyworksbeats

Been creating off and on for years. Struggled to find a workflow that clicked with me. Tried FL, Live, Machine, Elektron.. I put off getting an MPC for a long time. Finally got one of the modern MPC’s (specifically X SE) and it changed my life. I felt at home after one night of use. Yeah, you can do more with any DAW, but that is the issue. I don’t want 100 options all the time. I just want 10 solid ones that I can master and depend on and cultivate my sound. Also, I don’t think focusing on the speed of creating is an approach I would take for myself. I like to take my time because I love creating. Finally, I will never feel creative using a mouse. A computer mouse is for spreadsheets and word documents.

@mgband good points! I understand your point of views. Whatever workflow works best for you. I remember back in the day people made fun of FL Studio and said you weren’t a real producer if you used it. I guess they are still people that feel this way till this day and that’s fine. I have been a user of both with me I really just prefer FL Studio. One thing I will say the MPC is great for chopping samples. I enjoyed using it. Also taking the quantization of the percussion and hi hats was something I did alot.

Same I came from fl and got an mpc one plus . All the sound packs that I used in fl that I thought was weak sounds high quality on the mpc . I have to do work to get the quality of sounds in fl that the mpc naturally puts out . Everyone that came from fl to mpc says the mpc workflow is faster but this guy is saying it’s the opposite. Lol the mpc is faster it’s like a beatbox workflow .

This is not comparing apples to apples. FL is a DAW digital audio workstation. Most DAWs are similar with the ability to add in all the plugins you can. MPC is a music production center with a narrow focus on just producing with its own set of tools. With that being said yes it’ll be easier for a beginner to grasp production on a DAW because they can start by just dragging and dropping in loops. But if you want to chop up samples and play around with different combinations then MPC is it. P.S. it’s never the gear it’s the person behind it.

I feel where you're coming from I grew up on Fruity Loops and now I use both FL and the MPC Live 2. I think before you made this video you should've spent time with the new gen MPCs because once you learn them you can navigate and make your beats just as fast and do everything you named about FL studio right in these new MPCs especially with this new 3.0 update with general ease. Now I agree Id point a new user to FL studio first it really is easier and more accessible and most probably already have a computer or desktop lying around, but these new gen mpcs (Live, X, Key 61/37) have really good workflows and they are not the headache that the old MPCs were, Hell some people are complaining that the new update makes the mpcs too much like a daw. I work on both It just depends on how im feeling at the time, switching workflows sometimes helps when I start having beat block. FL studio is amazing and out of all the DAWS i've learned (FL, Ableton, Logic, Studio one) in my opinion FL is the best and most user friendly to make beats on. With that being said the new gen MPCs are great I can make music just as fast as a daw on them, the problem is most don't take the time to really learn them inside and out and thats why you got a bunch of people just making stems and putting them in a daw anyway not knowing there is an easy way to arrange full beats on the mpc, and the new update makes it even easier to arrange almost in the same was as a daw.

I been using Fl since i started making beats in 2012, In 2021 I bought a MPC and the workflow was a nightmare It took me so long to get use to It , I sold it instantly, I do think the MPC sounds better that's the only thing thats good about it

I had the same issue until I learn how to make my sounds hit hard like the MPC. Long as you learn how to mix and eq your good

Both. Mpc software is a groovebox/virtual drum machine that works inside any daw..can’t do no mouse clicking beat creation..I save the mouse clicking for arrangement , gain staging and light mixing

@@supastylez always feel like one of the things that takes producers a long time to make a beat is that they don’t make templates. My MPC template has 600 drums to start. I never have to menu dive. Couldn’t do that in FL. Unless your computer is the size of a mini van.

This is a terrible take. I started on FL 5. I Have 10/11/12 & 20. I bought a MPC Ren in 2018 and i just got the Key 37 last week. Literally everything you said you can’t do on the mpc, you can. You said you can’t type in the search browser, you can. I know how long it takes to make trap hihat pattern in FL it takes half the time on a MPC. You said you can’t do fx. They literally have Q-Links for any parameter. Unless you talking about a MPC 60. This is not a valid take.
