2025 Another Golden Year for Vintage Lego Fans? /w

Very grateful to Lego for bringing back Classic Space. Not a fan of City Space so I'm happy they're actually giving us real space from the glory days. So much imagination and creation and playability in those old sets. Hope to see more Classic Space and even Castle sets - maybe smaller ones as well.

The desire for a full space line will never be there if they don't try. Kids can definitely be marketed to they just have to push for it.

We mixed the space line 2024 with dinosaurs. They simply explorer a dinosaur planet and it works great for story telling. Our kid loves it. The idea came from that exloriens logo with the T. rex skull in the background.

The problem with CMFs is the fact that they get retired. Sure, you might have a nice mix of figures, but in a couple years or five, they will be next to impossible to find direct from the source, and go up in price on the secondary market. I think THAT's my biggest gripes about the CMF lines: No longevity for latecomers.

I definitely agree with that. I love cmfs but the limited run on them does make it hard.

My hope for the future of these classic sets is that eventually we get something from Adventures/Johnny Thunder. Maybe an Icons remake of 5988 Pharaoh’s Forbidden Ruins; that would be amazing. Heck I’ll even take some GWP’s of smaller sets like Lego did with Forest Hideout.

I think it will sell good, more blacktron fans, looks more fun and cool even for kids, imagine seeing black cool badass spaceship as a kid. Im buying at least 2 of them for that B model and i got a feeling that it will get massive number of awesome alternative and x2, x3 builds on rebrickable

Futuron was also mentioned in the instruction manual, a faction which was first released in 1987, similar to Blacktron.

Seems lego has been building their company on branded IP, but with so many Disney properties being in a really bad place, I wonder if they are looking to build equity in their own classic ips that they can shepard a little more carefully?

Speaking of repurposed robot figures, I've been going through older sets - specifically Futuron, but I did this with the Space Police II 'Robot', as well - to see what they had, and if I could make them from the parts in my meager collection. I actually found interesting trade-offs to make when it came to making them look different enough to be identified as a mock. There're two Futuron Droids that I cannot recreate easily, the blue one and the white police-looking one. But, I have ideas... I may go back into classic space to do more. That may be an interesting CMF line: Lego Space Robots where they're made out of pieces.

I hope they still do make a new dragon mold mini, they likely wont with the ninjago trend, but this big dragon while cool as it is, is pretty big and a smaller dragon would be nice too.

Hoping LEGO does an Ice Planet set , like a new version of an older set like the Deep Freeze Defender or Ice Sat V . I like what they did with this , references to old sets and alternate builds of updated old sets. Been seeing a lot of throwback stuff. Like the GWP forest hideout and Majisto set which I liked . They’ve been doing CMF’s of older lines too. Hoping for LotR & Hobbit sets but between $20-$100 instead of $400

Blacktron is fugly af, not for me, but I’d recommend buying a dozen if you like it. I want the red bow from Cupid I’ll be getting a dozen Wolfpack Beastmasters…. at least. Just want the pieces that I want on PAB for 2025.

I buy a lot to use in my armies a custom figures. I only buy a lot when I enjoy a figure. And I don’t buy them all at once I slowly get them while they are out. The real problem is the people who buy them to resell them.

I want 6-10 Wolfpack guys for a mic scene I want to build. Hoping I can get them. I was really late to the dnd CMF (just started a week or 2 ago) and I have all 12, and duplicates of almost all of the ones I want duplicates for. Yes I’d love more Dragonborn, Bards, and Gith for parts, but it is what it is. I’m sure for a few weeks I’ll still be able to find more if I want.
