It is way more luxurious and usable as a daily than the Supra. I like the Supra, but it is a genuine 2 seater with very limited usability. If I were a track junkie the Supra might be an option. But throw the M2 in comfort and you can easily road trip in it. I can put my baby and kids in the back seat. Tho also worth mentioning that very few people are paying $66k for it. Frozen grey + carbon fiber at my dealer was $80k. I ordered one with individual paint and some carbon fiber for $73k.

Sigh....I've been holding off on purchasing a '24 M2 or a '24 Supra....I really want to see IF Toyota decides to bring the GRMN Supra to the table, if not, then maybe I'll just opt for the '25/'26 M2. We shall see.

Well as a Supra owner I think the 2 series is a very boring looking coupe. Would not appeal to me. But I feel that way about most bmw designs. The M2 looks nice but still has a strange shape that puts me off. Saw one at a show yesterday and felt the same way. In my biased opinion, the Supra looks much better. Probably not as practical to get in and out of. End of the day these are sports coupes..

Agreed the 2 series looks so strange to me. I have no idea why so many hate on the Supra looks, it’s one of the most striking designs and attracts so much attention, I guess it’s easy for people to hate online. For me it just comes down to value per dollar and ease of service that’s the only reason why I would go Bimmer but I know for a fact Supra drives amazing and Toyota really has that vehicle dialed in correctly. Despite lack of discounts, Supra holds its value so that makes up for it.

@@MeynMotorGroup Right. Service wise my experience with Toyota has been okay. I tend to wait longer for something like an oil change since it requires someone certified to look at the Supra. I can see the value of bmw 2 bmw servicing. If shit starts to hit the fan, I've recently become a big fan of the Shelby GT350 🤣

Great mini review-the auto M2 is roughly the same price as a base C8. What do you buy?

That’s true my friend for me I just can’t do the Base C8 I need at least 2LT Electronic Convertible. I’ve seen some dealers up north offering $7k off on such Vettes but that’s still going to be $80k plus. Compared to a base Vette I might go with the Bimmer since at least it is serviced by a BMW dealership but just depends on the individual I suppose and if they have quality dealers nearby

It's so ugly. At this point, the only reason that I keep my BMWCCA membership is for the motorcycle rebates. I don't think I'll ever be buying another car of theirs. Maybe an M340i, but not while the IS500 exists. As for the Supra, I warmed up to the looks. An available MT helped. I still think the roof line entry is silly. I would still probably spend the money on an IS500 though.

It's quite a bit heavier than a GR Supra. Cars have very similar performance when factoring power to weight ration. Of course the M2 is easily $12-15K more in price. The GR Supra also has a better manual transmission.

In my opinion they did nothing to the M2's engine for this +20 hp, since the 2024 MY power was very much understated. Dyno results were showing that the 2024 engine was giving 450hp to the wheels. Now they simply announce a number closer to the real one
