Customer orders. Dealerships might order one. The market on manual transmissions is pretty small.

As far as daily drivers I would say you can get away with it but with the potholed roads in lots of areas Z4’s aren’t the most comfortable. You end up grimacing when you hit them. These cars are meant for good roads!
