The Cadillac Eldorado nameplate often brings to mind the quintessential American personal luxury car. From 1952 to 2002, the Eldorado was always at or near the top of Cadillac’s lineup. Interestingly, despite its high status, the classic American front-engine, rear-wheel-drive setup only lasted from 1953 to 1966. From 1967 onwards, the Eldorado switched to a front-engine, front-wheel-drive configuration.
