Is this a Take on the current Corvette C8? The previous XLR was a Corvette spinoff 20 years ago, carrying an inflated Cadillac price with a detuned Corvette engine. At least this one gets the CT5-V Blackwing engine. If built, I can assure you this would sticker above $130,000 USD. It's completely comical they put "2025" like is coming out soon. 10 years from now, they may be making diecast models of this concept, same as the Cadillac Elmiraj. I own a full set.

Its creditably will come from how well it is accepted on road course race tracks. Without some race track credibility it will fail with poor resale value. It's odd for GM to be introducing a front engine sports car when it now has a mid engine chassis with the Corvette. The twin turbo V8 Corvette engine in top performance trim makes 1,000+ horsepower this is about 2/3rds of that. It is also unusual for it to use a 10 speed automatic when double clutch automated manuals are normal for modern high performance sports cars. It's a mystery of where GM would get such a transmission. It has 10 speed automatics for its Diesel pickup trucks, but that would appear a poor fit.

GM is so stretched financially they can't design and produce a Tricycle! Fat chance of them producing a beautiful concept only the elites could afford, and most of them would not buy it, they buy Lambo's, etc, but it would be interesting to see them build something that would regenerate the Cadillac mkt. Cadillac used to be a World class competitor. Currently, they rely/market on past laurels, which have been dimishing for some time! They build beautiful concepts, but do nothing with them. How smart is that?
