I had one of those videos that would have been very popular due to what I was riding past. Then I got to work and found I hadn’t taken the lens cap off and had an hour of black screen lol. The problem is most of the info on any can am is opinion. The only one I take as fact is Shawn Smoak .

The ground clearance on the Canyon is 6.3 inches. The suspension has 10 inches of travel in front, but the ground clearance is 6.3 inches. The Ryker Rally ground clearance is 4.8 and the RT is 4.5. So the Canyon has an inch and a half more clearance than the Ryker and 1.8 inches more than the RT. That is not insignificant, but it is not 6 inches more clearance. I did enjoy your video and thought you made some good points. Thank you.

I stand corrected, ok it’s not much but every inch counts and a good skid plate for the miscalculations.

You hit the nail on the head. It has no competition

That revelation came to me only a short time before I started the video.

to counter you on power... jet skis and snowmobiles... end of story lol. Kawasaki H2, Hayabusas... I mean come on... there are bikes that have power out. if someone out rides their own skill level thats on them. dude.. a TON of people have been asking for power for years across all platforms.. just crazy. 100% agree with you on the no competition. I've brought that up before. as soon as another company comes out with a reverse trike.. Cam am is in big trouble. I appreciate your points of view. Thats what makes it fun.

Now that I think about it yet again lol , HP=torque x RPM / 5252. So given the same engine maybe the drivetrain can’t handle the higher RPM needed to actually make more HP ? Man I don’t know and we aren’t experts so it’s all just speculation. Yes if you outride your skill it’s on you but maybe it’s who these are actually marketed to. They want an apparently safer experience and seeing these things involved in accidents might be off putting. I’m sure many want more power regardless of what the ride is I wonder what percentage it actually is ? People are still buying the 600 instead of the 900 ,yes it might be price and there is regret in some cases but they still buy them. I’m also glad to see you back on 3 and look forward to seeing what you had to do to get the Ryker back together. Hope to see your speculation of what caused it.

The power is ok ....the reliability is a major issue for me. New tires that might be interesting . You are right no competition they got a cornered market at that price/ you can have a Trex but that start at 60k with BMW engine. For now the ryker is good for me ..maybe for my 65 birthday i might go to a F3 for longer travel ( maybe like you) The growth of the bike are done via the ADV bike, that the biggest segment that is growing in NA, they did follow the market trend for the Canyon. My issue is that the trail are not made for 3 wheel they made for 2 or 4 wheel. . thank you for your video and comments. (ps love my ryker even with all the issues) Agree 1005 reliability and service (dealers)

It really depends on the trail you’re going to try and tackle. Very deep ruts and rocks that can’t be gone around or over I think would set the limit for the trail you can go over.
@mum-02173 ай бұрын
Don't think the Canyon would be as agile as a ADV which is more purpose built for off roading. Also, as you mentioned their could be issues with the belt set up unless it's covered in?
@SIRyker3 ай бұрын
@@mum-0217 like everything else it’s a compromise. It’s not going to be the best and it won’t be the worst. I think it fits a need limited as it is.

I went to the Rotax website, and they have engines that produce more horsepower. I also believe that the Spyder should have gone full automatic like the Ryker. The paddle shifter should probably remain on something like the Canyon. When the Goldwing went with the DCT, that should have been a wakeup call for Can Am.
@SIRyker4 ай бұрын
Transmissions are expensive to design and make so baby steps I guess . I’m honestly on the fence between semi and full automatic as far as transmissions are concerned. The engine is capable of so much more. No will it shred a belt who knows I think it would kill what’s already piss poor fuel economy. Might even violate some government regulation .

I would not classify my Ryker Rally as an off road vehicle along with the Canyon. Either one at best is a dirt/gravel road vehicle.
@SIRyker4 ай бұрын
Off road to me always ment unpaved but I can see that might not be accurate. I think both can handle a little more than dirt/gravel. I want to see some test rides before I finalize an opinion. I think some would be surprised others disappointed.

Instead of looking for a good line on the trail with a two wheel bike, you need to search for three lines on a Canyon.
@SIRyker4 ай бұрын
I see what you’re saying but there is a possibility of bridging the lines. I think I would want to hear from an experienced adv rider as to why picking one leg me over the other. Maybe 3 wheels would negate the need to make a choice in some situations.🤷🏼♂️
