The Griz are great, except for a year or two where Subaru made the engine (somewhere around 2017 or 2018). A friend has a Griz, along with two 1000cc Can Ams, and has tracks for all three. He beefed up the Griz with aftermarket exhaust, engine electronics and clutch. It's no match for the Can Ams on power and other areas. It works pretty well with tracks, but as you'd expect, there are times where it lacks the power needed to climb some grades without sinking into powder. But the Griz has a lower center of gravity, so it does exceptionally well on side slopes.

they gained 10hp, but they also gained a lot of weight. i doubt they will be that much faster than previous models.

@@stromghouls I agree down low and mid range , but I’ll just about guarantee it’ll pull on my 23 1000R upper mid range to top end . My guess is it’ll be about 3-5mph faster top end as well. Our 500 outlander with the PDrive will do 65-66mph. To me the 500 is just way more refined and makes vastly less squeaks groans and drivetrain noise than my 1k.

Yes ridiculous weight. I'm trading my '22 xtp 1000 for a new one. That '22 was a claimed 826 lb dry weight. Now 975?!

They are much faster 0 to 60. 5.9 seconds.

@@stromghouls I had a 2007 renegade 800 for 12 years. I upgraded to the 2022 Outlander 1000 XTP. That renegade was 597 lb dry weight, this one is 826. I honestly can't feel much of a power difference, probably because of the weight, my tires are a little bigger now too. They both did 78 on their speedo. I have a 2025 on order. The ads say they go over 80mph now though, I think because CF moto has one that goes over 80 now and Can-am couldn't let that win.

Work mode is for work as it says. If you want slow descends down, steep declines you use the engine break.

Yes, the Sportsman is over 50" wide so it limits where you can take it.

@@hitorquemags True. It is 55 inches wide, which restricts is use on 50 inch trails. I own a 1000S along with two older Outlander 800s, But barring trails that are too narrow, the extra width, length, ground clearance and suspension travel of the 1000S make it substantially more comfortable than the Outlanders on rocky trails. I prefer many aspects of the Can Am. But if you're not racing, the Polaris is a more comfortable ride, the one I most use. However, the Outlander's switch to a double A-arm rear suspension should help handling and ride quality quite a bit (it is long overdue). It also increased rear suspension travel, reportedly by nearly 2 inches.

80+ mph top speed in anxious to see if it's faster than my clutched tuned and piped 850xmr I've got it to 88mph.

My 2007 Renegade 800 went 78 on it's speedo. My 2022 xtp 1000 goes 78 on it's speedo. (75 on phone gps). I wonder if they are electronically limited

due to the clutching and engine mapping, you would get too much power right off idle, so very jumpy, too much crazy power too early in throttle

I will almost certainly be trading in my 2023 Outlander XT 1000R. It’s basically the mid bore redesign on steroids . We have an Outlander 500 along with my 1000R and I love everything about it more than my 1000R except the power. It’s smoother , rides better , easier maintenance, better fit and finish , MUCH quieter drivetrain , sealed compressed bushings , MUCH MUCH better shifter, much more storage , softer seat . I’m a fan.

I was going to go with cfmoto, but there are so many people having electrical issues, engine failures and having to go for repairs. They are not even pushing them hard. Plus, I am Canadian and thought I should support my Canadian brands.
