*Headphone users, I really apologize for the audio, you can fix it on your end by turning on mono audio. For iOS users, go to settings, accessibility, audio+visual, and turn on mono audio and everything will be fixed on your end if you choose to watch. I have ordered a new microphone for all videos starting next week and again, I seriously apologize. My editing software was playing everything back normally so I didn’t notice until it was recently pointed out to me..* Thanks for watching! If Chevy drops a hybrid engine in the Trax or Buick Envista (sub 30k), GM will have a game changer.

Great review. Never understood why the backseat not getting an armrest/cupholder setup would be the cost savings GM would use. My guess is that next refresh adds that back in. GM had a fantastic 9sp automatic that was paired with their diesel engine on the Cruze. I wish they’d just use that one as standard. Sadly, they are heading more towards CVTs…bleh.
@chadjohnsondash2 ай бұрын
9sp still available have to step up to the trailblazer AWD models to get it.

Probably cheaper to replace the engine rather than replace the timing belts. There should be plenty of low mileage engines and transmissions available in a few years since this model is selling so well. You could probably score a low mileage engine for less than $2k when needed.

Still 3 cyl with wet timing belt; don’t keep past warranty, throw away vehicle. It will cost more to service the timing belt than the car will be worth.
@renztampengco5665Ай бұрын
How much is the average service fee for wet timing belt service? And is it every 5 yrs service? Every 100k kms service?
@flashnmb1Ай бұрын
@@renztampengco5665 GM recommends 5yr / 50K no more than 80K; because of head design, a special tool is required to lock cams before removing belt. No dealer will give a estimate; some say several thousand dollars, if it breaks the engine is gone. By end of power train warranty dump the vehicle; GM’s reliability is no more, evidence is the fact GM doesn’t offer any manufacturer extended warranty.
@johnrenaud2216Ай бұрын
I'm a certified master mechanic. The timing belt is made out of a specialized rubber material that is lubricated with synthetic oil. It has a 150000 mile service interval change. This vehicle's engine has steel sleeves in the cylinders and is actually a very well put together engine with adequate power. With the Borg Warner Turbo the vehicle properly maintained should run 200000 miles without any problems other than normal maintenance issues. Car and driver Gave it vehicle of the year for 2024 and 2025.

If it lasts 50k, it's ok. If it lasts 100k, it's pretty good. If it lasts 150k, with that engine, you're probably lucky. Testimonies of people who haven't even put 20k on their Trax yet aren't really testimonies about reliability.

2025 styling gets attention and it’s sometimes mistaken for a Blazer. Definitely not the fastest,with horrible turbo lag. Ok inside room with spacious cubbies. Seats are premium but don’t hold you. You’ll be relying on console for stability.

Activ and 2RS trims are both top of the line. Only difference is that the Activ has the power driver’s seat while the 2RS has the 19-inch wheels and flat bottom steering wheel.

Love the looks and the price but to address the “elephant in the room”…..will this car last 100,000 miles or more? Unreliable wet belt timing, turbo, 3 cyl….for me I need to see a review with this car at 80,000 miles or more but if you actually need a car….not want…this could be a nice choice for a few years.
