Qiu Qiyuan, the Olympic silver medalist on the uneven bars, underwent elbow surgery at the end of November last year. She is currently in the recovery phase and expects to miss the National Championships this year [in May]. She is aiming to make it to the National Games [in October] and the World Championships [in October].
QQY: An elbow injury is a bit more complicated than other injuries because it is a more complex joint. I will listen to my doctor and focus on recovering first. The National Games is a big goal for me because I have multiple strong events and the all around where I have a good chance of getting the gold. I also hope I can recover quickly and work hard in order to be able to compete the all around at the World Championships.
In 2025, athletes have started to officially train for the Los Angeles Olympics. Three chinese athletes are planning on attending the Cottbus World Cup in February: Zhang Yihan, Zhang Kexin, and Zhou Yaqin.
ZYQ: For 2025, I will get back into the competitive spirit by going to a World Cup, looking for any problems I may encounter and working to overcome them. I hope that at the World Championships, I am able to vie for an individual gold medal, and get my portrait up onto the wall of champions!
ZYH: The main points are doing my DTY vault, get the clear hip layout tkatchev named after me, and add my silivas on floor.
Ke Qinqin hasn’t turned 15 yet and has only been on the National Team for a few months, but she is very diligent in her strength training. There are tears and drops of sweat rolling down her face, but she has never once expressed her fatigue.
KQQ: I need to improve my strength and technique. My fitness has improved a bit, and as I continue improving, my technique will improve along. So the main objective is to gain physical strength.
Yesterday the rhythmic gymnastics team and the artistic gymnastics team held a joint Chinese New Year celebration. This is Zhang Boheng’s second time being an emcee. He plans on attending a World Cup in late March.
ZBH: I’ve been met with some obstacles as I am trying to learn new skills, but through the help of my teammates and coaching group, I have overcome a lot of difficulties. I am still not sure of my full routines yet, but we are going to be arranging my routine composition soon. I will definitely continue encountering more challenges, but with continued hard work, I am confident in my abilities to overcome them.
