Unfortunately, that's really hard right now since my less than 1 year old business is barely paying me. I took a massive (and hopefully short-term) pay cut to build my dream with my business partner. I was a stay at Home mom with no money in my IRA or any savings of my own, which was scary at 53 years of age. Three years ago I got a part time job and save everything I make. After 3 years, I am 56 yo and have put $9,000 in an IRA and $40,000 in my portfolio with CFA, Evelyn Infurna. Since the goal of getting a job was to invest for retirement and NOT up my lifestyle, I was able to scale this quickly to $150,000. If I can do this in a year, anyone can.

Hey you. I’m sooo happy to see this video. Can you refinance the student loan? Over 20% on a SL is incredibly high. I bet you can get way lower. Don’t feel defeated, you can pay this off. It feels like a lot right now, but baby steps. ❤ I know y’all can do it!!!!

Welcome back...Mrs. Bea! OG check in. Love the sound of the pink calculator. I have six figure student loan debt. I'm incredibly weary of that being part of my financial identity. Such a harsh and sobering reality to face that the only function of student loan minimum payments is to keep you out of collections. The outstanding balance can hover around the same for over a decade 😮. Life requires pivoting. Most personal finance channels never touch on mental health and familial changes. Good luck!

Thank you for sharing and always being transparent. Have you looked into refinancing your student loan because that’s a really high interest rate, most refinancing have lower rates now so you may be able to get it down to 5% or below/ check out Sofi or a credit union.
