The 2025 Streetfighter V2 and Panigale V2 make 35bhp less than the models they replace, so what is Ducati up to? We checked out both models in the metal at EICMA, AKA the Milan bike show, and found out that this makes a lot more sense than you might think...

Really like these. 120bhp is more than enough for road & track. I've had two 150bhp sports bikes before & didn't want another one as it just wasn't that usable on the road without risking jail time every 5 minutes. This level of performance is more appealing than the previous model imo, especially the weight loss.

@vincentbeijing6926 The Panagale. The reduction from the Supersport, according to Ducati's website, is supposedly 27kg! Apparently the Supersport is 221kg fully wet, the previous Panagale V2 is 211kg & this new version is 194kg. However these are just figures from Ducati's UK website so who knows.

@@timothymills733 if Ferrari makes a front wheel drive sedan, is it a Ferrari? This is to Panigale what the X-Type is to Jaguar. They are trying to leverage the Panigale brand equity to sell the lower cost Supersport redesign. This and the new anemic looking V4 will destroy the momentum they have with the Panigale name.

Those are perfectly calibrated for open roads riding. 120 hp, torquey and lightweight.

I’ll be keeping my 2023 Streetfighter V2. It performs great, and captures the heart of Ducati… power and exquisite Italian design. The new SFV2 falls in line with other manufacturers… practicality.

I like it a lot. One thing people need to get over is this obsession with BHP numbers. This bike has performance comparable to the 600cc inline fours it will race against, which means it will have a performance envelope beyond anyone short of pro-racers. The other bit about BHP relating to price must drive manufacturers mad as those aren't equivalencies when it comes to designing and manufacturing a new bike.

All good points well some of us or maybe it’s just me ( one of us) have been dreaming to get a Ducati which are approachable(price wise ) since their youth and now when one can a afford it they make it a 600cc sport bike equivalent ? Well HP matters specially if they already had it . 18 inch biceps matter and they are not the same as a 16inch biceps for one of us atleast . They cannot just make a 200+ hp and then a 115hp motorbikes anyway that is just me and am glad MV Augusta still making them in 118 , 140 and 200HP motorbikes anyway

@@madrat5176 but it hasn't changed classes, it is staying in the same class, they just no longer have to "de-tune" it to be allowed to compete. The outgoing V2 had no class it fit in. It was a relic of the days when a V2 was their superbike.

In reality these two bikes are going to be great to ride, gutsy engine and very lightweight will make for a fantastic real world sportsbike. Will make for a brilliant supersport race bike.

In general I like the new platform, especially the weight savings. Nevertheless, it should make 130 hp minimum so the 120 figure is a bit of a shame. Still, at the reduced price it is still going to be a ton of fun.

More like the Ducatis of old with a torquey V-twin. Less weight and better drive (accessible torque) at lower speeds is going to make this a quick road bike, just as my SC28 Fireblade did back in the 90s,

This new version has way way more grunt at middle and low speeds versus the old one. 20-30% in many areas. I see it as a massive upgrade on the 950 supersport. perhaps they should have named it the Pangale Supersport :D Unsure where the Streetfighter leaves the Monster, except on price. And, I have never admired the Streetfighter styling.

I'm 1,000% more interested. Have a 23' Monster and was looking for bit more power. Test rode panigalie V4 & Streetfighter V4 way too much power and heavy; rode V2 but weight is like 45 pounds more than the monster. Absolutely love this spec, agree w/ others' 120 HP with this weight dist is just the right blend for the streets and actually enjoy it.

They haven't made the V2 cheaper they've made the supersport and supersport s £500 and £800 more expensive and gave it the V2 badge

I was looking at a Rs660 for a while because of the price and its a bike I would mind binning less than a 35 thousand dollar V4S, but now that the new V2 is here... I really like the chassis. Waiting to see if its a 95% road bike and 5% track bike or if it will be capable on track.

I have a '22 Speed Triple RS and a '00 Bandit 1200S. Although far from the perfect bike, the lower bhp Bandit is less work and therefore, in some ways, more enjoyable to ride.

I'm pretty happy with my '22 V2....this is essentially a Supersport, which I guess isn't a bad thing as I'm sure Ducati wanted to create a wider gap between the V2 & V4. But it just really seems like a decontented V2 is their strategy moving forward....for pretty much the same money. No thanks.

Still way too pricey. For the same or similar money you can get the new 2025 BMW S1000R or an MT10. That is not good value for money. The competition, which is fierce like the Yam MT 09 or Triumph 765 is way cheaper and offers performance similar to these new Ducati's. They are good looking machines but not priced correctly.

Agreed for the price get a BMW or for Italian get the MV f3 / dragster ( if you are in Europe ) have read that dealer network in rest of the world is not that great

So… this is the replacement for the supersport. That’s great, but I am a little aggrieved you religiously avoided showing the placement of the handlebars to at least gauge its road-friendliness. You were literally right next to the bike and from 1:18 you ALMOST show the bars, but you somehow ignored a very significant aspect of this bike - in many ways THE defining factor. Boggles the mind, honestly.

It’s not just higher clip on, they are also closer to the seat, which means more “cramped” cockpit. Much much less sporty than the old v2. It’s no longer “Panigale.”

The DDSA is not as handy for servicing as the SSSA. No SSSA and too expensive, I'm out. Given this, the R9 is much better value for the money. I'm not saying this lightly as I have two Ducati: M1200R and an MTS 1260 PP.

Ah yes the adage of wins Sunday sells on Monday. Too many rods thrown out of bed on those for me to look at them seriously. Plus completely different class of bike. One is a supersport one is a Superbike (in pure race class terms) I was sceptical but the thing is beautiful and will be a race weapon in the wssp competition

I’m not a massive Ducati fan to be fair, but the exhaust and rear suspension solution looks horrible. I like the ‘normal’ swing arm but those are showstoppers for me. I can live with 120 bhp - that’s plenty for the road - but no, I won’t be buying one of these. Bound to be too expensive.

Screw Ducati for this one. Why are they so worried about Yamaha the R9 coming out? So worried they had to make the dumbest rash decision on destroying a current model, stooping down to Yamaha’s level to compete with it. Ducati has worked long and hard to establish an exclusive market for themselves because they stayed in their own lane. Similar to Apple products. They set the bar meanwhile disregarding what other their competitors do. But what’s even worse is now they want to give us less of a product for a price point that doesn’t make any sense. Going backwards with this fake Panigale. Watch how much Ducati sales will plummet in 2025 vs 2024. Only a fool will purchase this junk if you ask me.

In side profile it looks way too much as if it is pandering to the masses with it's cheap Chinese knock-off slab sided styling and those raised and disproportionate clip ons. More of a supersport vibe than superbike. A hefty 35 bhp down on the much more agggresive outgoing Panigale V2 Superquadro, which screams Ducati and everything they have become reknowned for. This is a luke warm offering at best and is pitched at a market that is defined by the competition as opposed to those who want a slice of something that differentiates itself from the norm. A dangerous path that Bologna has chosen IMHO.

Without road gear on it looks beautiful. Even better with the full termi in the Time Attack setup. What's it ride like? Can you tell us anything about it's handling? How it carries it's miniscule weight? What is your understanding of the Ducati engineers wanting to meet homologation for wssp without having to race a seriously restricted V2 in the competition? Oh wait you can't answer as you have no clue

@@tonyfreeth2559 If you had bothered to read my comments in context, you wil see that I am not passing judgement on anything other than it's styling and quoting it's lower power output. That is very distinct from commenting on it's raison-d'etre as a more suitable package for WSSP, which I agree it will be, or it's handling which I cannot comment on as I haven't ridden it yet. Looks are subjective. You yourself commented on them with your judgement of it's appearance having a full Termignoni system fitted. I have seen these pictures of it on the configurator. All I can say is you are entitled to your opinion, as am I. I've only been riding Ducati's for 28 years and have owned and ridden over ten different bikes, everything from a 748SPS, 998, 999,1098,1199,1299 to a V4S, as well as having built several from the ground up 1199,1299 and V4 comprehensive projects for both track and road use. I imagine you have the same degree of experience with this brand? Or perhaps you don't.

@@topolino65 wow 10 different bikes. I've had 1098S, skipped the 1199/1299 as thought they were ugly. A Panigale V2 and a 23 V4S. As I thought you have no clue what this bike rides like. But then I don't mind the stock exhaust on the new one either. If you want you can send me a pm I'll send you a pic of my 23 race V2. I don't just wobble them around the streets

​@@tonyfreeth2559I've seen plenty of race V2s. I'm sure yours is just as nice. Just not feeling it with this new incarnation however. The DSSA doesn't bother me. Appreciate it will be a very capable bike but for me it's looks confused as to its identity, given it appears to lean more towards a supersport platform than a road going race bike, at least in terms of ergonomics and styling.

@@topolino65 there's options for full clip ons and lots of race parts. I think they are making something slightly more road focussed as it comes out the box but with the parts to make it a proper Panigale (clip ons are really it) other than the S being single seat. No Panigale has ever looked good from the side with passenger seat and foot rests on it
